I was very disappointed with the tone, response and customer service overall when processing a…read moreGroupon purchase. The months prior I had saved up to go in for a massage, but the purchase came with an additional $42 charge on top of the $70 Groupon, something I have never experienced with a Groupon. I was almost willing to pay and go in regardless, but between the unexpected extra expenses and later the text exchange with Dawn, I felt generally uncared for and could feel the negative vibes even through the ether. Unfortunately I cancelled and never received my $42 back, though Groupon refunded me just a few hours before my appointment. I kept in touch with Dawn truly as much as my schedule would allow, and she refused to honor a reimbursement because of the nearness to appointment of my cancellation. While I totally respect punctuality and the integrity of keeping an appointment, I figured our conversation the day prior would have helped to give context and make an exception. I wish Dawn would have been more clear and positive with her communication and let me know that she expected the email from Groupon in order to issue her refund. She only asked for it after I mentioned something, which was already within the 24 hour period. My biggest suggestion would be to simply change the means of promotion if Groupon is not profitable enough. I'm sad to lose $42 and a potential spa spot in Kona, it's simply clear that I couldn't return there and experience respite or relaxation.

So there are good points and bad points regarding my experience at this "spa". I would give them…read moretwo and a half stars if I could. Not 3 because to me, it was not a-okay. So the good: 1) We were late, my sister and I. But they took us in anyway and actually did the full massage. 2) My sister's masseuse, Gary?, was quite good according to her. She said he hit all the spots with some acupressure and pressure point work. 3) The people seemed nice. The bad: 1) Not sure if it was my sis's fault but they put us in the same room like a couple's massage. Kind of weird. 2) My masseuse (new?) was not great at all. No pressure point work, did not pay attention to where I told her my problem areas were (neck/shoulder area), no feet work and no real work on my legs either. 3) Had to ask her for more pressure 3 times - still no change. 4) Had to submit credit card info about a week prior to the appt so they can add tip. Not used to this. 20%. But may be standard for the area? 5) They say the massage is a $150 massage. Resorts charge more but you get access to the entire spa area. And not the best looking space. Not horrible, but not a spa setting to me. Tips: It's behind Hamburger Annie's (?). Park in the back. It'll be up the stairs.
