The current owners have restored the restaurant to edible, woohoo!
In want of a lazy dinner, we headed down here to sample the 'new to us' menu. Our picks were the veggie burger and the salmon with soba noodles.
The salmon is lovely, with the sauce served on the side for you to use to your taste. Noodles and bok choy cooked to perfectly. The salmon is cooked through and oven baked, and very enjoyable.
The veggie burger is a good one - I personally do not care for brioche, I'd prefer a normal wholemeal roll, and the zucchini fritter needs a little more oomph, but the beetroot chutney and fresh salad makes it very enjoyable. It doesn't look like a large portion, but it definitely fills you up. The fries were hot and crisp.
Overall, a very pleasant pub meal with a broad menu that caters to a wide variety of dietary requirements and preferences. Will be back :) read more
