I have been drinking in this pub for many years as it is where a majority of my friends will have a drink. In that time i have seen many owners and managers come and go. Some have done ok and others, well, just ruined the place. At one time not so long ago you would get some unsavoury characters in there that made you feel on edge, and there was no choice of real beer or entertainment. However, most recently a nice family (with young children) have moved in upstairs and turned this pub around. They worked out who the unsavoury characters were and had them leave. This was a large number. There is now a large selection of real Ales available with Guest Ales popping up regulary. It has two log fires with a nice leather sofas seating area. And one of my favourite additions is a dart board, and i belive they are in the kent blind league too. As normally has your quiz machine, jukebox and fruitmachines. Would be nice to see a Billiards table in there too. And light snacks are served till 9 which is nice as no one ever wants to leave a pub. There is now live entertainment in there regulary, from bands, Disco's and singers. I am eager to see what more they will do to continue to rocket this pub. My only downside is, that now it is becoming more popular, it is always busy and takes a couple of minutes longer to get a drink, but hey, thats what you expect. So next time you pass i recommend you pop in. read more
