Just a few steps away from the boat dock on Cockatoo Island, which is a brisk 20 min ferry ride from Circular Quay. The junkyard patio with garden boxes features a panoramic view of Sydney Harbor and the city skyline - as well as a random, old rusted construction beam. Overall, this is a nice place for refreshments whether you're starting or finishing in the island and they also have brekky and lunch available.
We ordered the Seafood Basket: battered fish (cod), calamari rings, prawns served with tartar sauce and lemons, resting over a pile of French fries. It's definitely nothing special and harkens back to high school cafeteria meals.
Chicken tenders - you get two of them but they are small and thin (this is a kids meal) but seasoned well and tender. Probably holds the most flavor out of everything ordered.
It's a small island-style shack that leads you to lower your expectations and that's exactly how the actual experience materialized.
