Even for someone like me that doesn't know anything technical about the engines or the cockpit instruments... I still enjoy coming, and seeing all of the aircraft, helicopters, and especially the World War II reenactors that take the lot at the back of the airport. There are a lot of great food vendors with tons of options for families as well so you can definitely spend an entire day here and not go hungry. I would recommend bringing your own chairs and dress warmly, or check the weather before you come, as there is not really any shelter from the elements. There are also are only porta potty bathrooms for what that's worth. Children under 12 are always admitted for free!

There are also helicopter and plane rides available. I have attended since its inception 12 years ago and am delighted every year. It only gets better. What a great, affordable family outing. Adult tickets run $15, ages 12-18 are $10, veterans are $5, and kids under 12 are free! It is a celebration of our veterans and in many ways a throwback to less complicated times. The organizers do an exceptional job. Food vendors abound and its sole sunglasses vendor, Sun Optix, offers great year end deals on its quality eyewear. Hands down, it is a Gotta Try!

Just visited with my mom and uncle who love making glass art…read more Stumpy's has an impressive selection of glass fusing supplies and many samples of finished pieces made with the supplies. What was most impressive was how knowledgable and helpful they were! My uncle asked a question about using glass stencils. Amanda started to answer and then said "let me show you what I mean." She led us to the classroom area and got out supplies and demonstrated a liquid that helps hold the frit in the stencil shape. She spent a long time chatting with us, showing us creative ways to use the supplies and answering our questions. This wasn't hard selling. I appreciate that they let you walk around and browse without interrupting you. She didn't approach us; we started asking her a bunch of questions and she was happy to answer. I got a kick out of being able to write the first review for such a great place!

Therefore, I was already very happy to have found them and very excited to put my first order in. Then I received the order. The product was very well packed and it was a wonderful surprise to found a card and a mint in with the package. It is a very small thing, but that is something you just don't find when you receive an online order. Wonderful personal touch guys! When I went through the order, one of the molds was broken despite the packaging. I called them up, and they are sending me a replacement immediately. I don't normally put reviews online, however, I am so impressed with the wonderful Customer Service as well as the personal touch of the card and mint, I felt the need to let them know. Thank you Slumpy's!

What is interesting about this place is how it's a little farm oasis in the middle of Charlotte suburbia. I made sure to buy some of their excellent soap and deodorant 1) because they're good products and 2) to help keep this wonderful local business afloat as long as possible. The animals are clean and healthy, and the farm is also clean and doesn't smell. The goats are friendly, but Auryn the Great Pyrenees definitely steals the show (she is a beautiful, gentle giant). The owners are friendly and approachable--they love meeting their customers. I'm not sure if it's the same yoga instructor every time, but our lady was very zen. My sisters and I took our mom here for a Mother's Day present (none of them had tried any goat yoga before), and we all had a blast. Highly recommend taking an adventure here!

There is so much to like about the FMHM…read more So few know the rich history of this area. Roots go back to the 1700's when the Catawba Indians moved South when they realized it was too cold in the winter, hunting & fishing was a challenge and there was plenty of prime property in the warmer region near the river. They found the soil fertile, the river a great source for food. This tribe made strong alliances with early American settlers and were key in their support to Colonials in the Revolution versus Cornwallis. I had a great tour with Mrs Libby Chambers who told me of her relationship with Mrs Ann Close Springs. The last known person in the US who rode on the zeppelin, Hindenburg.
