The only recommendation that I have is that you hire 2 people for a shift. If there are more than 3 people in the line, I keep going because the wait is too long. Pretty nice ice cream spot me and my sister in law found while being down this area. We told…read moreourselves that we would be back because of the signs out front saying $1 water ice- to me is a great price! So we ended up going today and for 6 people- 3 adults and 3 children we were able to get a mix of ice cream cones, soft and hard serve and 3 water ice for only $11! Which is very cheap! The water ice is from Philadelphia Water Ice Factory and the ice cream is made by Richman's which is really tasty brands. The kiddies were happy with their cotton candy water ice, and we were happy with our mint chocolate chip ice cream and gelati. The employee at the window was very friendly and patient with us since it took some time for a few of the kids to choose. As far as seating it's an outdoor shop and there's only one picnic table that seats about 6 people. Maybe less depending if it's all adults. We would've sat and enjoyed our ice cream longer but had to leave because the trash cans outside were overflowing and weren't changed over- so flies were everywhere. Once we started heading to the car to leave- a man and the woman from inside the window started to change the garbage over. I'd go back again since the prices were good.

There is an outdoor seating area kind of fended off however there were no seats or tables or anything in the area. I just got a small (LOL small - dang thing was YUGE!!!!) cup of salted caramel pretzel ice cream. It was about 6 bucks so it's kind of pricey however it was also very good! This place doesn't just do ice cream - they have a regular food menu too of fries and burgers etc etc so even though there were people ahead of me, due to them ordering fries and sandwiches etc I didn't have to wait because they made up my ice cream right away. Only problem was the lady in the party ahead of me had also, as part of their order, ordered a small cup of salted caramel pretzels ice cream so she took my ice cream!! Nobody realized it until she saw the name "Mike" on the order slip. No prob - the staff quickly scooped up some more of that tasty ice cream and put it in a cup for me and I was on my way. Honestly I feel shame for having eaten the whole thing, I should have done it in about 3 sittings or found 2-3 other fully grown adults with whom to share this giant pile of ice cream. 5 stars definitely will have again if I'm in the Philly area.

The ice cream had a tiny spritz of whipped cream, a sliced quarter banana, and a pinch of rainbow jimmies and fruit-flavored rice cereal. The ice cream was absolutely delicious. If I had one complaint, I wish the servings came in different sizes because while undoubtedly the serving would be fine for most people, I would have liked more. The tea was also quite delicious. I was accustomed to tapioca in the base (even indicating I wanted it on the online order form), a quarter of the cup came with jellied fruit beads. Unfortunately, most of the jelly was stuck together so I couldn't drink them up in my straw and had to use the spoon from my ice cream to eat most of it. I'm unsure if tapioca was included with my tea but it was good, I didn't really notice until afterward.

The Mister Softee trucks for me have a nostalgic value on top of delivering excellent soft serve!…read moreWhen I was visiting my cousin from out of town and he told me there's a permanent brick and mortar location, my first reaction was excitement, followed by anger that he didn't tell me sooner! This place has a far more extensive menu than the trucks, including some hot food available. I got my standard vanilla shake, and it was about as good as usual. Prices weren't too bad either. Four of us each got something for like $25. And the service was very friendly and pretty fast despite being busy at the time. Note they are a walk up window with no inside seating, and they are cash only! If only I had one of these near where I live...I'd gain 50 pounds fast!!

That truck jingle…read morehas permeated her little brain and she now equates Mister Softee with that dopamine hit of her sweet sweet drug....ice cream. SO, she often asks if we can stop here when we are close. The setup here is very cliche; a little hut with a teenage girl locked inside, handing icy treats through a window. The menu here is DEVASTATINGLY LARGE. Like, too large. There are a bazillion choices. The options here are maybe literally endless. The ice cream itself is entirely what you expect and are used to. A huge knock here is that it is cash only, so that absolutely sucks, although there IS one of those shady ATMs on the side. And although they do have seating, it is behind the store, and easy to miss. We've been here 3 or 4 times, and actually never noticed it until our last visit. It didn't look entirely pleasant either; hard metal tables, not protected from the sun. You might be better off just eating in your car. *shoulder shrug emoji* For the absolute lack of difference in taste or quality, I'd prefer them to bring the ice cream to me on the truck, but if we are in the area, I wouldn't be upset with stopping here.
