Good cigar selection, there was the really high end stuff and the bargain sticks and some choices in between. Private and public lounge options. The place is open until 9p most nights. They do have sodas and water for sale for $1 at the honor bar in the public lounge. read more

I dropped by to pick up a few cigars since I had left my humidor caddy at home by accident. They have a good selection of cigars, but they were out of a lot of cigars too. The Oliva cigar that I picked up was decently priced and is a good go-to cigar for a weekend break. It reminded me of the Alex Bradley's White Gold. Give this place a visit if you're in town and lookin for good cigars. This was the first time that I ever visited The Humidor and I really like every aspect of it. I consider myself very new to the whole cigar world and this was a great place to start my adventure. Found this place online. - Walked in and felt intimidated. We walked in and they were all on the couch and looked at us weird. - Not a whole lot of selections of cigars in their humidor. - Overly priced. I compared this shop to the recent shop I frequented when I was in Alexandria, Virginia for a month not too long ago. The shop in Alexandria had tons more cigars, everything had a price tag on it...and prices ranged from $4.95 and up. Plus the owner came in and suggested and assisted us. I'm a novice with cigars....and hopefully when a shop owner sees the novice in us, they'd realized that we're in there for a reason to actually buy something. Hate feeling intimidated. read more

Traveling up North with a couple day stop at Monterey and the Intercontinental Clement Hotel. Found this fantastic Cigar lounge complete with my favorite Gurkha cigars and an amazing walk-in humidor. Went to this place both days and while not a member, was greeted with a smile and enjoyed smoking in the "non-member" lounge. Enjoyed chatting with the locals and watching sports on the big screen. The whaling Station Steakhouse is downstairs and there is nothing better than enjoying a nice Kansas City cut steak, a bottle of Rombauer cab and then heading upstairs to have a nice cigar! Made our trip, we will be stopping here every time we pass through the area! read more

Box prices are available Beautiful selection of humidors. The owner is a great guy, looks like the director, Peter Jackson. He pretty much lives in the store. If you're in Monterey and need a cigar break, this is your destination. First off, fantastic, friendly people here. When there aren't many places you can smoke in California it's refreshing to meet nice people and in a nice, clean locale. I spent the weekend in Monterey and went here several times for cigars. The selection is excellent, the storefront is clean, and the staff is welcoming. The lounge area is simple, but the chairs were comfortable and the huge TV was perfect for catching up on some football. While you do have to bring your own beverages there are several places nearby where you can get what you need. Thanks for making me feel welcome - and kudos on an excellent cigar store. read more

I really can't say enough. What else could you want in a cigar lounge, seriously? I mean sure, if you have the scratch for a country club membership, hey knock yourself out, but do country clubs even *have* smoking lounges any more? The whole place is well-lit by many windows, the displays aren't crowded together, emphasis is on quality not quantity, and please allow me to describe the walk-in humidor: it's a room, but I mean it's a *room*, it's large, again very well-lit, the cigars are impeccably displayed, and we're talking mid-shelf at the very low end, the top-end displaying Fuente Opus X in several sizes, a huge array of Gurkhas, Cohiba, Padron, and many others. I settled on a $39 Davidoff, and then touched a match in the public cigar lounge - comfortable chairs, good ventilation, windows, cigar magazines, cable TV - and I had the place to myself! It was my first Davidoff, smoked with complete indifference to the outside world, politics, covid, or the stresses of a new job. They also have a membership, which gets you access to private rooms, a poker table, and a lovely dining area. The Whaling Station Steakhouse downstairs will bring your order up and serve you properly, at table, what?! If I ever settle here after I make my millions, I'm going to have that membership, sip wine, and have a Porterhouse brought up medium-rare. You want to go to Humidor and have a smoke. This place moved over from the Crossroads in Carmel and I'm so glad I found them. David is the owner and really knows his stuff. He is helpful, friendly and always has great product. The lounge is particularly comfortable and I spent a couple of hours chatting and smoking with David and some of his customers. I am from out of town and I wanted to pick up some cigars for my golf trip. I knew exactly what I wanted before I arrived. When I walked into the shop a friendly man who was smoking a cigar in the cigar lounge greeted me. My pregnant wife stood outside of the shop because of the smoke (not a big deal). While I was picking my cigars in the walk in humidor, I was shocked by the great selection of cigars. The employee, who was bald and had a soul patch (I didn't get his name) offered my wife some water, and I found exatly what I was looking for. After I purchased my cigars the employee gave me a complimentary cigar and congratulated my wife and I on our pregnancy. I will definitaly be coming here again next time I am in town. These guys are great! If I wasn't with my wife I would have enjoyed watching a football game in the lounge. Coming here made me wish there was a place like this in my home town... read more

My husband, toddler, and I were in the area for a visit to the Aquarium and my husband, having forgotten his pipe tobacco was hoping to find just such a shop for a relaxing evening smoke. We went inside, the place is like most local smoke shops. Stacks of cigar boxes everywhere, a decently sized humidor and fortunately for us a small selection of pipe tobacco. Pipe tobacco is certainly not their specialty, but the man (assuming owner) was very helpful and friendly. They have a small sitting area for those wishing to enjoy their pipe or cigar in the shop. This is the biggest cigar lounge I have visited with a fine selection of cigars, comfy leather couches, and big screen TVs to enjoy sports and movies. The staff is very attentive and knows their cigars. The walk-in humidor has Partagas, Ashton, Davidoff, Hoya de Monterey, Gurkha, and many more. The lounge is relaxing and beautifully decorated. You can also order food from The Whaling Station downstairs and have your after dinner cigar. There is off street private parking for easy access so you don't have to pay the meters. I mostly enjoyed the Hoya de Monterey while watching the Super Bowl; and they're open 7 days a week! read more

My first experience with Dave and his shop and being short on the two cigars I was purchasing. He gave them to me and told me to pay him later. I enjoyed the cigars and came back the next day with the correct cash. My point is if you're looking for no fuss, old school, customer service and atmosphere this is the establishment. The owner was very welcoming at this fine cigar shop. The loungey feel was unpretentious and I was very impressed with the cigar room (a seperate room they keep the cigars in). I don't know much about cigars so he took his time and taught me what I wanted to know. I picked up a few cigars for my upcoming ski trip to Idaho. I think cigars are the perfect thank you gift for someone who has everything. If I wasn't flying, I'd probably bring a few bottles of nice wine but these cigars will make perfect gifts to travel with. Thanks David! read more

Spectacular. This place is an oasis. It is located above a restaurant and has its own parking. Half of the club is super exclusive and the other half is for the public. Te public side is tastefully decorated and has a great air purification system. I left barely wearing the smoke from one of the hundreds of premium cigars they have to offer. This is THE cigar place in the area. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They also have a nice selection of exceptional cutters, humidors and lighters. I wrote the review below the dotted lines four years ago, when I initially said it was "As good as it get". I was wrong. It just got a whole lot better. Dave and his crew moved to a new location just across the street, right above the Whaling Station. Now there's 3500 square feet of wonderful cigarliciousness. Yes, I made the word up. The new public lounge is gorgeous. Ten leather chairs with a big screen TV and small tables. The new retail area is nearly as large as the entirety of the old place. The walk-in humidor will blow you away. Then there's the member's area. Even cigar smokers rarely smoke in their home. This member's lounge is a warm extension of your home where you can enjoy cigars and conversation with friends. Two 65-inch Samsung curved screens, and another 55-ince curved spread out throughout the several rooms in the member's area. Overstuffed leather chairs. A cut down baby grand makes a beautiful centerpiece table. A theater room. A game room. Laughter and conversation are abundant. There is a cost for membership, but worth every nickel. If you haven't gone yet and you enjoy cigars, please check it out. You simply cannot be disappointed. __________________________________________________________________________ This is a small, cozy place where you can take a 60-minute vacation with your favorite cigar.
