Just for general awareness, Jason R. (Jason Ramirez) Is the owner of this company and the only 5 star review. Want to know how he makes his money? I was quoted in July 3, 2023 to install an antenna on my roof. The scheduled appointment for install was made for the first date available which was August 8, 2023. After about a week, the local office called and said they needed to reschedule my appointment for August 10, 2023 due to a larger job requiring completion. A few weeks later I was called again and told I would have to be reschedule again but the dates given did not work with my work schedule and the first available date was today September 1, 2023. This morning I received another call from Mr. David stating the technician was unable to make the appointment due to his kids being sick. This is not a problem, life happens and emergencies come up. The next available date I was given is Labor Day but at this point I've had my schedule shifted too many times to want to move forward with honey do services. My family even ended our family vacation 3 days early to be home this morning for our 3rd appointment slot. I decided I will need to seek another company that can make the first appointment. When I notified Mr. David of my decision he stated that no refunds are normally given. I was asked to make a 50% deposit at the time of the initial quote in order to secure a spot on the schedule. Mr. David informed me this morning that that's not true so I have to ask why did I need to make a deposit? Mr. David said that he would have to speak to the owner to get approval for a refund. He called back and notified me that the owner would not be willing to give a full refund despite the fact that no services had been performed and would require me to pay a $100 administrative fee for contracts and administrative actions which he couldn't further specify or I could get a refund in credit for a future project which I have no projects planned. He also said they did not have a choice in the matter due to being a franchise location... Not a very good franchise model if you want to stay in business. I asked for the owner to contact me directly to discuss the specifics because I am amazed a company would charge anyone any amount of money without providing a service. He said there is no need for me to speak with the owner because he is well aware of the situation and was unavailable. I'm past the point of having any interest in honey do services perform a service for me but I do need a full refund and an explanation of how this could be perceived as acceptable. My advice is find another company. If you choose to work with these people despite all the terrible reviews, do not put down a deposit. If you choose to put down a deposit make sure you use a credit card so you have the ability to dispute the chargers when they fail to provide a service. Based on the responses I've read from the owner to other reviews they, do not care about their customers and they hide behind any reason possible to do shady business. Do not give these people your money. Every reason they gave me to not refund my deposit is shattered by their own contract. It's been over 30 days without the proposal/agreement being met so this piece of paper actually states that it must be re-evaluated before work can proceed. The $125 fee that Honey Do Services wanted to charge me is a re-mobilization fee which has no bearing on my situation. I've disputed my charges due to failure to render services. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS. Shortly after moving to Abilene and into our new home our refrigerator stopped working. We called this company to come and fix it. At first I was thrilled because they could come out next day and have a look. But what was originally thrilled soon turned into exhaustion. The person who came to fix our appliance was consistently late and had very poor communication. He put a part in our fridge that still did not work. Charged us $280 for the part and the fee to come fix it and only gave half of it back when nothing worked. So now I still have a broken fridge and I'm out $140. I do not recommend to anyone but especially active duty members who just moved here and are having a hard time financially because of PCSing. read more

I have been using Honeydo services at my home in Abilene since 2017, they have done everything for me from plumbing, removing trees, fixing locks, pouring concrete ramps/steps, they even built an outdoor kitchen for our patio. Just had them in (Johnny Dean was the Technician) and they did plumbing, door seals, built a laundry shelf and some wood-work and painting all in a day and the job, as always was perfect. I will be calling them again soon with another project. Their charges are always within a very reasonable range and when I was satisfied , which only happened once, Jason himself was over to make it right - no extra charge. You would benefit from the services they offer and their technicians are the best around. read more

I made a big mistake by attempting to use Honey-Do in Abilene, TX. I had to give them $150.00 just to get on the list to put up roller shades. I waited since early summer. Honey-Do wanted $300 to do a 30 minute job. I told them no. Their response was that they have a $150.00 reprocessing fee if you back out. Cheaper to get rid of them . I feel they are taking advantage of people. Had it been a bigger job it might have been different. read more

I called Honey Do Service in Abilene for an estimate to reconstruct an old pergola in my backyard. The estimator showed up when promised but I have never heard back from them. I called twice and emailed twice and was assured that they would get back to me with an estimate "as soon as possible". That was two months ago. I guess they're not interested. Too bad, I had other work to be done, but maybe it's for the best. Would not recommend if they can't even follow through with an estimate. read more

We decided to use this service as a way to keep things local. We hired the to do two different projects. One, was to install an attic ladder, which should have taken 2-3 hours. However, installing the ladder took 8 hours. The next project was to do some ceiling work in a bedroom and upstairs bathroom. Both should have taken one day to complete, not so. It took them 3 days, and for both projects, took them a week to complete. The attic ladder turned out great, no complaints, but, the ceiling work in the bedroom was horrible. They cut wood in the ceiling that should not have been cut. Then, instead of replacing said wood to support the ac vent, the vent now rests on the sheet rock for the ceiling. And the kicker, we now have two tone ceiling paint due to them buying only a quart size of paint, so overall, highly disappointed in this company. Would not recommend, find a better company that is reliable, dependable to get the job done right. read more

I thought I was making my life easier, by hiring this company to do 2 jobs, 2 separate contracts.. what should have been less than a month for 1 of the contracts turned into 3 mos, spending more money, delays, and then trying to charge extra $$ on top of the bid.. I will NEVER use or RECOMMEND THIS service to anyone. If this system had a way to give 1/4 or 1/2 a star you would be sure that would be the rating I'd give.. so I am being generous with 1 whole star. read more

We hired the Honey Do service out of Abilene Texas to install a garbage disposal. The minimum time was 1 and 1/2 hours and cost for 1 and 1/2 hours was $125. We were told that if the installation did not take one and a half hours we could get him to do something else. He was supposed to be at the house at 2 PM and showed up at 4 PM. We lost two hours of work time waiting on him. When he did show up, he installed the disposal in 30 minutes. He then was ready to leave and we asked if he could do a couple of other things, since we had paid for an hour and a half, and we were told no, they are required to be finished at 4:30. So a 1/2 hr cost us $125. THAT IS $225 per hour. I call that theft. That was not what we were told at all and he showed up 2 hours late which insures that he would only have 1/2 hour to work. I was very pleased with The Honey Do Service. They came out and provided an estimate and scheduled our job. When they came out they really took care in protecting our house! Money well spent and we will deffinatly be using and recommending them again. read more
