This company is disorganized with a big lack of communication. After voicing my dissatisfaction with the customer service to an employee, the owner called to tell me he "DOESN'T GIVE A F***" if I post a review, so here we are. They started on our fence a week early without telling us they moved us up in the schedule. We came home to our fence completely torn down and upset neighbors that had no warning. They would tell us they were coming to work on certain days and wouldn't show up. We'd have to call several different times to try and figure out what was going on. They also did a shoddy job in a corner and when we pointed out there was a big gap, the owner nailed a board on top as the solution (pic attached). We are now paying a contractor additional money to do the job right. I had planned to ignore the above issues and not give anyone a hard time. I recognize that things get busy sometimes and stuff happens. What finally led me to post a review was that phone call from the owner. Some of the pickets were bad and rotting and I told the owner that there were 3 I could see that were bad, but there may be bad ones on the neighbors sides as well. Our fence is getting stained next week and the pickets needed to be replaced before then. When his employee called from our house, I reiterated the above issue to him and that there may be additional bad pickets we couldn't see. The employee told me he was there just to replace 3 pickets and I'd need to call the owner again. That's when I let the employee know I was unhappy and immediately got a very aggressive call from the owner. Even if my request to check additional pickets was asking too much and they had to refuse, I would have at least hoped to be treated with some level of professionalism. After dropping thousands on a fence, we were very disappointed with how we were ultimately treated. I called D&M Fencing and requested a quote. Michael, the owner, came over and gave me a very reasonable quote with metal fittings and posts. Very impressed! Shout out to Michael, Zack, Joe Jr., Santiago, Trenton, and Andrea (I think that is the office gals name - if not I am so sorry). All outstanding in helping me and outstanding in building beautiful gates and an enclosure that is secure and I am so enamored with the new look, I could not be happier!!! Thank you so much to all of your for your hard work, all the digging (yep they hit rock), planting posts, putting up a beautiful fence and gate and two large ,swinging gates that Trenton did alone after the guys planted the square metal posts. So impressive to see such hard-working guys all getting along and all so polite and really nice. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. The customer service and communication are beyond horrific. I have a tenant occupied property that I will be putting on the market in less than a month, and before I asked for an estimate, I made sure they would be able to complete the work within the required time (3 weeks). They said they don't usually complete estimates on Wednesdays, but would make an exception since my deadline was quickly approaching. I notified my property management company to let them know that someone would be by to access the back yard, and they notified the tenant. Having dealt with MANY contractors in the past, I know estimates arrive in my inbox fairly quick. When I didn't receive anything in 24 hours (Thursday), I called D&M. The lady let me know that estimates take some time and she said she would call when it was completed; I left it at that. The next day (Friday) I called and the same lady let me know that the guy who did the estimate was waiting on a vendor response; again, I left it at that. When I still didn't have an estimate by Monday, I called again. She told me he was on lunch and would call me back when he returned. When I never got a call back that afternoon, I called again and was informed that he was "working on his truck". Another day went by without a returned call, so I called again (Tuesday). She said the guy was out on an estimate and would try to get in touch with him afterwards (she also tried to justify the lack of communication by saying she was busy enrolling her child in a school program). She returned my call about an hour later and informed me that he showed up to the property (six days ago), but nobody answered. They knew this was a tenant occupied home, and that I had coordinated the estimate with both the property management company and the tenant. Not only did they not pick up the phone to let me know that they were unable to complete the estimate, but they also lied about the estimate being completed and they were just waiting on vendors. Now I'm stuck jumping through hoops to find someone who can complete the work in two weeks versus the already tight three week schedule I had. Do not use this business and if you do make sure you do not pay in full UNTIL the fence is to your satisfaction because if it isn't they will not return to fix their errors. The pickets they use are poor quality, splits and knots. They screw them in too tight to the steel rails which cracks them and then they split. Drilled into my sprinkler system 4 times. I had to pay to repair that, added $300 to the cost. All sprinkler heads were 3-4 ft apart you'd think they could figure that out. Gates were put on backwards. Never asked which way I wanted them, they claim otherwise. They rush the job and the pickets are supposed to be board on board. Many, many are barely that (hardly overlapping more like edge to edge) and light is clearly seen in between the boards. They had to restrain the entire fence because they pre stain the pickets and it was not the color that was contracted for. Unable to post pics here otherwise I would. So look at someone else or make sure it's the way you want before you pay in full or you will either have to go the legal route to get someone else to fix their mistakes read more

this company was the most unprofessional company. The owner came late to do an estimate on a fence we wanted. He acted like we were a burden for him to even be there and might have been hung over. we then waited 2 week after he said it would take a few days. we try to call about and where told we would get to it when they got to it. just rude. read more

We are very pleased with our new fence. Everything we requested was done to our satisfaction. We especially commend Joe and his crew for their work. They were efficient and very professional as well as pleasant. We were somewhat disappointed that Michael was not able to give a final inspection as he told us he would do when we contracted the job. However, he had an excellent employee (Joe) to take care of this and he did see the photos immediately. Thanks to Kristina in the office, too. We bugged her with a few phone calls during this process and she gave us the info we needed. We certainly do recommend D&M Fencing! read more

I had over a 100 feet of 6' cedar picket fence installed. This is the second time I've used D&M to install a fence and both times I've used Joe and his team. If I use D&M again I will definitely want Joe and his crew. read more

I hired D&M fencing to build a new fence around my home in Abilene. The quality of work was top notch and the fence looks fantastic. However, in the process of building the fence, the crew hit several pipes connected to our pool's jet system. This was an easily understandable mistake. However, after being told a plumber would be called, a crew member patched the pipes on his own and refilled the pool. We had two separate licensed plumbers look at the work and both said it would not hold. Once the pool was refilled, the pipes burst again, flooding our neighbors yard for a 2nd time. We had a licensed plumber fix the pipes at a $200 cost. I asked Michael to cover this charge and I would cover the cost of refilling the pool twice. He told me no, this was not his fault, and he would not cover the cost. I was shocked at the way Michael was willing to speak to a customer. Even hanging up on me at one point. I paid Michael in full for the work but will never use his company again or recommend them to anyone else based on the appalling customer services and total lack of ownership for their preventable mistakes. This was one of the most honest and reputable service business I have ever dealt with. They did as they said they would, when they said they would do it. And yes, they dId a fabulous job on my fence. read more

I never would have posted a review had he simply said he would not accept my offer, it would have been over and down. The review was not about his work or his fencing, but about his lack of good faith and honesty. His reply is an outright lie, also my dealing with him was in good faith and unlike his comments, very polite, as I wanted a job done. I never said what he claims, in fact I said its a fair offer and he can "accept it or not". He said okay after my counter offer which gave him $80 for 30 mins labor plus material cost. In my book $80 for 30 mins is good pay, but he wanted $200 labor plus $125 material cost. Like I said, he never did the job after agreeing to do it, and simply left when he completed my neighbor's job. Very unprofessional behavior. I also noted he used interior pine railing on my neighbor's fence rather than cedar,..buyer beware...nuf said. read more
