The Home Depot is a big box, home improvement fixture in the United States. Part of what you expect, no matter where you find one (1) geographically is, familiarity and consistency. The one (1) in Saltillo (Tupelo) is no exception. The store is large, open, and sensibly laid out. The staff is friendly and helpful, although they could use a bit more manpower for customer assistance throughout the store. They carry all you might expect, from home improvement to lawn and garden. From residential, to commercial support. As one (1) might expect, there are pros and cons versus their most popular competitor, Lowe's. In this case, for me, the most important pros include the location, in town. As in, it's off the main strip in a much easier to access and navigate parking lot. The shopping carts in my experience, are in better shape, and kept indoors, versus Lowe's, who keeps them outside (although under cover). Next would be their ease of access to things like Pinestraw for bushes and flower beds. Here, you can easily access it in clean, sealed bags. At Lowe's, it's an entire ordeal that I won't even get into. Last but not least, their ease of applying their 10% military discount is the best, hands down, once you have your account set up. read more

We ordered countertops from here ... quartz ($4,700) Supplier kept calling saying they were sending damaged pieces three different occasions and they really have to piece it together so we found a new guy and he said he wouldn't have to piece it together so we went up to get a refund that we had paid cash on and they wanted to mail us a check which would take 21 days to get to us.... I can't tell you why this place is still in biz.... Just left Home Depot Tupelo ms location stood in the appliance department for over 45 minutes we had to walk to the service desk to ask for help in that dept she appeared from outside the department we wanted to see/touch the $3000.00 range counterdepth frig. I've ordered a vanity from Home Depot twice now and after six weeks I still don't know when I'll get my new vanity. After receiving a shipping confirmation on the first one I ordered I let the contractor that was remodeling my bath go head and gut my bathroom and to no avail the vanity supposedly got lost during shipping. So we had to cancel the order and reorder. So the second was supposed to be available for pickup at the local HD between May 26 and June 1st. As of today June 6 It's still in processing with no idea when it will ship. Unfortunately it's a odd size double sink vanity and at this point my remodeled bath is complete except installing the vanity so to late to change vanity without redoing plumbing, electrical and tearing the wall back out to do so. They have pretty much everything I need here, but the service is hit or miss. Half the time it seems like only a few employees are working the whole store. Workers used to ask if they could help you find anything but that is getting more and more rare. They can cut lumber for you which has been useful for the few pieces I needed cut, not having a saw at home. The self checkout feature is the best since I hate standing in line. They also have automated self propane checkout outside but I've not been able to use it yet. Overall average store due to spotty service. But I'm just glad we have one in town to keep Lowes honest. read more

If I could give a -10 rating I would. I ordered 4 shelving units online for pickup in Tupelo, MS. They said not to come to the store until I received email confirmation that my order was ready. I received the confirmation and began the 1.5 hour drive. I arrived at the store and went to customer service where I was told they didn't have any of the shelves I ordered. Seriously?! They said, "oh yeah, we were supposed to call you." Are you kidding me?! They gave me written confirmation that my items were ready for pick up and when I get there they tell me too bad so sad?! That was 3 hours driving time, not to mention the gas!! And all I get is customer service saying, Oh yeah, we were supposed to call you." I'll never do business with this store again! I will bad mouth this store every chance I get until hell freezes over! Calling them incompetent and insensitive would be too great a compliment. What imbeciles! read more

Went to Home Depot today to get some garden supplies. The cashier in the garden center named Christine told me to have a "happy Veterans Day " while we checked out. I nicely corrected her and told her that it was Memorial Day not Veterans Day. She just laughed and said "oh it's the same thing!" I then nicely explained to her the difference and told her that it did matter. Today is a day to remember those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we could have freedom. She just looked at me like she didn't get it. Home Depot please train your employees a little bit better than this! You were having a "Memorial Day" sale and all. Unfortunately the customer service here at Home Depot does not even compare to the wonderful customer service that we have received from Tupelo Lowe's in the past we have received. Big mistake making an order here. We ordered a fridge from Home Depot a month and a half ago because it was on sale compared to Lowe's. We schedule delivery for the end of June. Today it is the middle of June and we received a phone call from the manufacturer saying that our fridge schedule delivery is going to be delayed by two weeks. We thought this was very interesting as Home Depot already elaborated to us that our fridge was in the back waiting to be delivered to us. We then called the Home Depot in regards to our worries. The customer service manager then proceeded to look for our fridge in the back and it was nowhere to be found. So then we brought up the idea into taking another fridge that was in stock similar to the price we paid for the one we originally bought. They then elaborated they are out of stock of all fridges around the price we paid. So then we discuss getting a more expensive fridge around $2000 that is in stock. Those are the only ones that they have in stock for the next three weeks. We elaborate that we are not willing to spend the full difference for a more expensive fridge that's in stock due to their own mistake and misinformation. We were willing to spend a $200 but that was all for their mistake. We received absolutely no help. They were not willing to work with us whatsoever. We received a refund and no fridge. Do not recommend this store to anybody. Lowes will treat you so much better and accommodate any situation especially when it's their own fault. Buyer beware! read more

Thought would do your survey but the receipt printout was so terrible, I could not read the numbers/letters plus the checkout lady's, Gloria, code number was not readable. Dealing with this store was the biggest mistake that I ever did. I am in the process of renovating a house and trying to do it through the escore program that TVA offers and told the associate that I was dealing with that all windows and doors that I was ordering needed to be energy saver rated. I also got the installation through Home Depot because it is required through the escore program to used certified installers and Home Depot told me they were part of the escore program. Well 5 months later I was not sold energy saver windows and this Home Depot is not part of the escore program. This was all found out after the windows were installed. The installers had to go out four times and didn't finish the install. This is after corporate came down to look at the horrible job. I was given material to finish the project but I had already paid them to do it and was going to have to pay someone else to come finish what they didn't. So I have wasted money and time dealing with this store. The customer services is little to none. There is no communication from any level of this organization from store level to corporate. When all was said and done they basically told me that it was my tough luck. Will never step foot in one of Home Depot's stores again. read more
