Ran into Home Depot to grab something in the Garden Center. Could not locate what I was looking for, asked a sales associate and together we could not locate the product. She then called the manager, he looked for the item. Only one to be found was located in stock on a high shelf. Manager closed the aisle and retrieved my item. I had Home Depot in Ellsworth install my roof that came with a 50 warranty because I thought the company would stand by its work. I was wrong Immediately, after installation, it began leaking. When I purchased the roof from Home Depot's representative - David Jaroz - he told me this was the last roof I would ever need to buy. But when I wanted Home Depot and Jaroz to stand by their warranty and promise, I was handed off to an insurance company called Genpact. It took hours of phone calls and months of waiting to get someone from Genpact to appraise the damage and settle my claim. I've been waiting one full year now. Genpact has stalled and still hasn't repaired my roof or reimbursed me one penny. Be forewarned - don't use installation services at Home Depot thinking that the company will stand by its contract and work... they will not. read more

I want to apologize to the girl I upset at the store today. It really was quite shocking. I walked down one of the paint isles at about 10:00 AM or so this morning of 4/25 and saw two employees chatting. Being a customer I thought it might be ok to ask where the stove black was. I was Soundly spanked and put in my place because the female one of the two was *Mid Sentence* and I Interrupted. It seems she was maybe instructing the old guy who, to be honest, looked embarrassed for her and me and pointed to where I needed to go. I hurried away so as not to offend the, maybe 20 something girl with adorable pink glasses. Although she did SEEM to be in a supervisory position, I imagine that was a little uncomfortable for the old Mainer looking guy. I am sorry that I offended you my dear. I did a curbside pickup for an order here and had the best, happiest, most polite young man deliver the items to my car. I only wish I had his name. Not only did he bring the items to the car, he asked if we needed anything else (we did) and he helped us. He asked again but we were done and he wishes us a great day. We ordered a gas stove from HD in Ellsworth, MA. We scheduled a delivery date and had the gas unhooked (they require that). They were to deliver the next day. No one showed up and the delivery service said they couldn't find the stove. They never notified us whey would not deliver. Cost $300 for the unhook/hook. Talked to HD Customer Service. They were lovely. Rescheduled for today. Had the gas unhooked. Got call and text they would be here today. No one came. Turns out it was not convenient for the delivery company to deliver to our location, so with no notice to us they rescheduled for 4 days later. No one seems to think this is a problem they should solve and that we should now believe it will actually be delivered the next time it is schedule. I would never order something that needed to be delivered from them again. The Customer Service people are sympathetic but the delivery service they use is a joke. Plan to get them to reimburse us for the stove and go to Lowe's to get the range. We also want them to reimburse us for the $600 we are out due to their incompetence. read more

This Home Depot is clean and well-run. It has a large parking area, very clean rest rooms, and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The quality and politeness of the staff cannot be overstated. Home Depot harkens back to the days when all Home Depot's were run with well-compensated, competent staff. By far, this is the best Home Depot in all of the known universes. I am used to HDs that are populated with uninformed and uninterested gnomes. Not this place! I have been coming here for four years or so to provision and repair my camp, and I gotta tell 'ya, these peeps have the right stuff. Example: I walked in and said that I wanted to put the hurt on a band of marauding gophers. The fella walked me right to the gopher snuffin' department and explained each product to me. Then I said I had a hole in my driveway and he took me across the store and was just as informed on asphalt repairs as gopher ruination. Sure, they got all the standard stuff, but it is absolutely the staff that makes coming here an otherworldly experience. They are great. If there was an Oscar for hardware stores, they'd be preparing their speech right now. read more

Change your delivery service!! They are terrible and rude! 3rd delivery date reschedule for my washing machine. I hold you responsible as you pick the company. Terrible customer service! I will take me business elsewhere!! First time they forgot to load it! Second time driver has no service so doesn't call. Waits 5 mins then leaves!! Having shopped here for major items over the years, I was very disappointed Christmas Eve. The signage stated Home Depot was locking the doors at 5PM. The doors were locked when I arrived at 4:56. Two minutes later someone walking inside caught my eye at the door, stared at me for a few seconds, then turned and walked away as if he hadn't seen me. We ran out of propane for the stove and needed an Electric Burner to make Christmas dinner. Would have taken five minutes to get in, get the item, get out. I realize it was Christmas Eve but of all times of year when people are supposed to feel helpful toward their fellow human beings, to close earlier than the sign noted (false advertising) and then ignore the customer after making eye contact, I just think it's deplorable behavior. I will shop locally at EBS and when out of town, I will not purchase unless I go to Lowe's. read more
