I wrote a bad review because of a rude worker, lady, in customer service and when I got home I discovered they charged me again for an item I already paid for with an online order. After writing the review I was so upset I went back to the store and asked for the manager. He listened, verified the rudeness with another employee that was present, credited my overpayment and gave me free bags of charcoal since my order had a new grill. He listened, verified and made me satisfied to shop there again. I believe he will address the problem of the rude employee when she returns to work. read more

Please be aware that in spite of Home Depot's lip service about their undying support for veterans in practice that false narrative couldn't be farther from the truth. I am a veteran with PTSD. I purchased items through Home Depot and opened a line of credit with HOME DEPOT. The fact that they use the vendor citibank doesn't let HOME DEPOT off the hook when citibank is trashing their customers. My issues are with the terms of citibank regarding how you set up automatic payments and then forcing people to give them direct access to your checking account. For those that aren't aware more businesses are doing this because it's nearly impossible to dispute being overcharged, inaccurately charged etc. citibank blocks users from being able to set up payments with a debit card where the consumer has more control. Or else you can wade through their intentionally long process to pay it manually every month where you have to log into two different accounts, have multiple verifications done to prove your identity etc. This is set up to be intentionally difficult to bully people into giving them free access to your entire checking account. I brought the issue to home depot and they didn't care. They said they can't do anything about what citibank does which is an absolute lie. Citibank in this scenario works for Home Depot and Home Depot can say this can't continue. But they won't, because they don't really care. Trying to get assistance from citibank which is inevitable trying to log in every month is literally triggering my ptsd and I now have a hole in my wall that is directly attributed to hours of their customer service reps playing games with me on the phone. Home Depot has no problem with that. They made that very clear in writing. So remember when you go to Home Depot if you are a veteran you ARE throwing your fellow veterans under the bus. If you are not a veteran please don't tell people you support us because you don't. You support us as long as it doesn't cost you anything or inconvenience you. That's virtue signaling not support. That's not an opinion that's a fact. I will NEVER step foot in a home depot again until they address this issue. I would like to think other veterans would stand up for each other but I think even at this level people have become so self centered they don't care until it's them. After this interaction which went through the Better Business Bureau there is no doubt in my mind that Home Depot is one of the most duplicitous and unethical companies out there. The employees at customer service have zero clue what their doing. But it's not their fault. It's managements fault. The manager was called for me but when she walked up another person at a different register grabbed her attention. Because they spoke the same language that conversation went on a lot long than it should. All I wanted to do is have the person at the register locate my Home Depot card using my SSN and DL. He didn't know how. After finally getting her attention after waiting 15 minutes she still didn't know how to fix the problem. I walked out and I went to Lowe's and spent my money there. I was in Crystal River so I decided to stop in Home Depot. it seems like I'm in Home Depot every other day I'm usually in the Ocala store and they do a fantastic job. I'm not sure what's going on with the Crystal River location. I went to the pro desk and it was closed. The lady said it's not open on the weekends. But yet at the Ocala store, it's open seven days a week. I tried to get help in the door department and they told me that guy doesn't work on Sundays. I finally got somebody to help me and they don't stock what I was looking for even though all the other stores do. I'm wondering if the Crystal River store is a smaller store than usual. I also noticed that when looking for help everybody seem to be over the age of 60. Maybe all of the younger staff works Monday through Friday and not on the weekends. As I was walking out of the store and grumbling out loud, I overheard two other customers, grumbling out loud that it was a waste of time to come in the store. read more

This is one of the better store in the chain Chris the store manager was at this store for probably 12 years. They have a new store manager there, do not know her yet. I personally worked for HD for 15+ years. Customer service is better here then in most stores they have some really good high quality employees that are dedicated to there jobs. Love the way store is setup and is easy to get to aisles well stocked, very diy friendly employees that are very happy to show you how to do your diy project. The garden department is run by one of the best gardeners, the plants are beautiful here and very well watered and taken care of. I buy my annuals here every year great variety of plants. Lumber here is also some really good quality, building materials, Electrical, Hardware and plumbing are good well stock departments too! read more

My Wife and I purchased a Stove and an above stove Microwave. It was to be delivered on the 28th. We were told to have our Microwave & stove removed before they got there. We paid a local handy man to remove them the night before they were supposed to be delivered. On Delivery day we were called to be told that their truck was too large too come down our street. Noto Court. and that it could be delivered on a smaller truck 2 days later. I told them that we needed our stove that night so we could eat. That was the best that they could do. I then called the Crystal River store and was told they had no control over delivery. I told the manager that I was 75 an unable to get out. ZERO stars would be more accurate. I purchased over $2500 in tile by the pallet. I attempted to return six individual boxes today (unused extra tiles). The store gave some ridiculous story about how they couldn't refund the purchase because it wasn't a full crate. I guess they don't know how to do division. They are currently selling these same tiles on the shelf. This is not the first time I've experienced an issue with Home Depot. Do yourself a favor, go to Lowes and get better customer service. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have a large selection of cordless trimmers and blowers. It appears they have cut back on variety. I was able to pick up the tool box I kept eyeing for the last year. I've been waiting for a sale, so I got this 10% off and it never seems to go on sale. The 10% saved me about $10 (not a huge savings, but every little adds up.) The folks were COVID-19 aware and had guidelines in place. They even offered PPE at the entry. read more

**8/25/2021 Update** Spoke w/ ASM on phone he agreed to help make it right. Met with the store manager, he apologized for the issue and made this right. I am updating review given this new information. While I believe the store manager deserves 5 stars for his service today; In my mind (as the whole experience until today was dreadful, corporate has a lot of work to do to improve. For this reason I am not raising it to 5 stars, but because I was treated with respect and my issue taken care of by the store manager- I do believe they deserve raising the stars beyond my initial review. Do not accept store credit, get those emailed receipts and if looking up receipts do not allow the representative to shortcut the process with a store credit. And if you do get a store credit, make sure you buy something you will never return and do not combine with other items/payment method.******** I purchased a product that had a bad design so when I attempted to return it, I had misplaced my receipt- so was advised when I called they could look it up by credit card. I buy everything on credit card, so no issue there...or so I thought. I usually use HD credit card, but didn't this time. I was offered a store credit, which in my previous experience was no big deal and since I have spent thousands there didn't give it a thought and accepted it. This is the big mistake I made, by no means should I have allowed the customer service rep to short cut looking up my receipt and accepting a store credit. I will explain a little later how store credits should be avoided at all costs... So I decided to buy another brand of the same product that I have used with success in the past. In addition to that I purchased other items, including a multi-tool. Here is the second mistake I made, unknowingly...I allowed all items to be rung up on same receipt, paid first with the store credit and the remainder (which covered the full cost of the multi-tool before tax) on my Home Depot card. Now let's, add one more detail and tie together why store credits are bad and should not be received, and if received should only be used by itself, so not buy other items with another form of payment... I went to the store ~2 says after finding out the multi-tool appeared to be used/returned previously. The tool didn't sound right and I only turned it on for less than 5 min to determine it needed to go back. The customer service representative said no problem and apologized, I was well within my return policy. Here's where it broke down, as the store customer service rep. was entering the details for the return the system denies it. I was told to go to a website for Retail Equation. I was made out to be a criminal, they mentioned in the site fraud, etc. I asked to talk to store manager and only the ASM was available, he advised nothing could be done to call corporate (which were closed at that time). I almost never return items, unless defect or product issue, so I immediately thought someone stole my ID so I ordered a report immediately. However, this doesn't change how I was treated in the store, like a criminal committing fraud. I was absolutely shocked how poorly I was treated and lack of customer service. So once I finally got ahold of corporate (2 days later) I find out that there was no fraud, I was flagged due to the store credit. Apparently it is Home Depot's policy that no item may be returned from a receipt that used a Store Credit. Regardless of how much, you can use a $1 Store Credit and purchase $500 additional for a receipt and nothing on that receipt is returnable. (Unless you call corporate and ask for exception after being publicly denied and they will send a case up for review and let you know if a decision in 3-5 business days.) So in my case, even though the cost of my muiltitool before tax was covered by the amount of my charge to the HD credit card, it was still not-returnable. Based on the information corporate provided, they recommend not combining items buying store credit and credit card...how do customers know this? This Is why I should have bought the multi-tool separately, not combining it with the store credit items- that I am keeping. In my mind, I should be refunded for the amount charged to my HD card and the ~$6 put back on a store credit...as I'm keeping the other items on the receipt that make up the remainder of the store credit. As of now, I will no longer be bringing my business there! I am not telling anyone to stop shopping at Home Depot- but review my experience and make your own decision. Just be careful, Home Depot's customer service is not what it used to and they do not care how much you spend.... In the very least save your receipts, never accept store credit and if you do, never buy with other items and buy things you will never return.... read more

He did it with no issue, Cashier I was with, Debrah, told me about some ways to get discounts, Very simple, easy and fast. She also called up someone to help me to my car. Most workers were great. One worker was very rude. One worker, kareesha, i think is her name, was very rude. Was on her personal phone when walking near customers. And rudely asked customers to move by saying "uhhh EXCUSE me". When we were were walking in the main isle she acted like we were in her way. The other workers were very helpful. We bought a pressure washer and the older gentleman who helped us was great. He even recommended a product to help lubricate the hoses after use. I wish zero stars were available. I ordered a refrigerator two weeks ago. Delivery guys forgot to bring whatever they needed to move refrigerator upstairs, so they left the refrigerator and said they'd be back. A week later two new guys showed up and said it was 400lbs and they couldn't move it and left. Corporate office said it was our local Crystal River Home Depot issue and local Crystal River Home Depot said it was a corporate office issue, because we ordered it online. Back and forth for several days, their final answer was "I'm sorry you need to hire a moving company". Ok so... I certainly didn't expect this at all. Let me paint a picture here so you know what's going on. I called in to the appliance department and spoke with a gentleman by the name of Perry. I ordered a new refrigerator and an over the range microwave with Perry. He asked me if I wanted that microwave installed for $59. I initially said no. After we finish the transaction over the phone and I hung up, my wife said honey, that was stupid. She said call him back and tell him you want them to install the microwave for $59. Naturally I said you're right and ok. Keep in mind, only 15 minutes has gone by since I made the transaction over the phone. So when I call him back, him nor the manager that I spoke to after him were able to change the order to where I could get the install. They kept saying they would have to cancel the entire order and re-ring it up. I said I didn't want to do that I just wanted to pay the $59 versus going through the hassle of taking it off of my card and put it back on my card and so on and so on. They said they would give my name and number over to a manager, Brenda, who would call me back in a day or so and try to get the order fixed. She called me back and wasn't sure how to do it and she ended up speaking to a gentleman by the name of Alan. I was directed to come in the following day and pay the $59 for the install that Alan would fix it. So I came in and Alan was busy at the time and was on able to meet with me. So I was with a lady named Pam. I told Pam I would come back later in the afternoon and she said thank you and she would get with Alan and get it all figured out because she was having difficulty getting it worked out to where I could just pay. When I came back in and saw Pam she said that Alan had taken care of it and I didn't owe anything. I was flabbergasted. I was not expecting that at all. That is customer service above and beyond in my book. They couldn't figure it out, so they gave it to me. I was informed that this was only offered to someone with a service related disability. Unlike Lowe's which does offer a military discount. This Home Depot needs to improve in several areas. I started coming to this store 11 years ago. At that time it was a 4 star store. In recent years I've noticed the decline. First area of improvement is their store associate friendliness and customer service. No more smiles and may I help you when I go into the store. I've also noticed that the newer employees just don't have the knowledge of products or home improvement in the area they're working in. More training is needed in all areas. Secondly, the store use to be clean and neat with a place for everything- not so anymore. It needs a good clean up and reorganization. There's a new store manager and she needs to focus on these important aspects to make shopping there a pleasure again. Third of all, I would like to see their home improvement classes focus on frugal living such as solar energy for the home, growing food in all ways including hydroponic fruit and vegetable gardening. Finally, more classes to give women extra knowledge and skill in home improvement. They have a few but not enough geared toward women in my opinion. People are choosing to do things themselves because of the economic decline and women are stepping up and helping out now more than ever before, so with a little effort this store could be great again and meet all it's customer's needs! read more

I spent about $250 on paint and supplies, including a 5-gallon can of paint, weighing over 40 lb. My purchases overfilled a cart. Associate Paul came along when i had a question, then escorted me to check-out and took my purchases to my car and loaded them in! I tried to take him home with me so he could unload, too. LOL That kind of volunteer customer service is what all companies need. Trying to get quotes on a home remodel. Went to two local places, Lowe's, and Home Depot. Need cabinets, floors, countertops. EVERYBODY ELSE came out, measured, and had a written proposal in our hands within 3 days. HD, on the other hand, we are at two weeks and waiting. The countertop guy came out after a week, and left a price. The flooring guy, came out, measured, and said someone would call. 3 days later, robot calls from HD start arriving on Sunday night, early in the morning on Monday, all say hold to speak to a flooring expert, then cur off. Extremely annoying. Finally I called the robo number back, held forever, and got a "flooring expert", a disinterested operator who said my quote for laminate flooring was ready. I never wanted laminate flooring, the quote was supposed to be for tile. I paid $35 and am at 2 weeks plus for the honor of receiving price quotes on a fairly large remodel! With this kind of "service" I would NEVER entrust them for any sort of home service. Never have had anyone call about cabinets, never! Just unbelievable no customer service! read more

On 5/21/2021 we purchased a mower from The Home Depot. It was delivered on 5/26/2021. We have a small yard, so this was only used about 1 1/4 hours since received. On 6/28/2021 after mowing and doing regular cleaning after each use, there was oil ALL OVER the mower and everywhere. On 5/29/2021, we contacted The Home Depot and were immediately pushed off as it was over 30 days past date of purchase. They did not want to hear ANYTHING and referred us to warranty company, as we purchased extended warranty. We eventually contacted manufacturer as the mower is under the one year manufacturer warranty. Service has been arranged. Now we have to hire someone to mow our lawn and to hopefully get the oil stains removed from our concrete driveway. We had thought we were doing a good thing buying from this store, but our guts told us to go to a dealer. We should have listened to our guts. We will be closing our Home Depot accounts and will stick to our local Hardware store for our home needs. read more
