It's all about the warmth and caring that you feel from John and Rosa. You feel very much at home with them. I was only in for the one night and their hospitality was boundless. The included breakfast was superb with a wonderfully prepared full English fry up including baked beans, mushrooms and fried bread if you wish. Assorted cereal, fruits and yogurt are all ready and waiting for you.
I stayed in room 2. A substantial, front facing, bay windowed , King bedded en-suite. It couldn't have been set up any nicer. A small flat screen TV is on the left wall. The pillows and bed were both firmer than I am used to (at home I have a gel mattress and down pillows) so I wasn't as comfortable as many would be. The fully carpeted en-suite was quite sizable also with a full tub and stand up shower.
Jon had recommended a pub just a 10 minute walk away, for a bite and libation and it was a great call. The walk itself was charming with a few lovely homes and cottages to view. A pretty bit of countryside.
Transportation was also arranged for me, by private car, to Manchester airport. (£25) The ride is 20 minutes and the charming driver and his large Audi, made for an enjoyable exploration of the area. read more
