I can't say I've ever seen the show, but if it helped make Robin Williams a household name I'm already a fan. We parked across the street, walked up, grabbed our photos, and they enjoyed recalling their favorite moments from the show. Really you can only take pictures outside of the house, but the Mork and Mindy House is a fun stop for those who have a special place in their heart for the show. "Nanu nanu"

Noticeable differences are the exterior color, additional trim around the porch, the huge trees, and the white fence. There was someone working in the yard when I came to check out the house, so I did my best to not be much of a nuisance. I only took 3 pictures! I was not living in the U.S. when the first 2 seasons aired. I watched the reruns and the new episodes as they came out. I enjoyed this quirky show! This house was built in 1883. For the show, it was both Mindy's apartment (upstairs) and Mr. Franklin Bickley's Apartment (ground floor). Mork moved into the attic. Filming of the interior was shot at the Paramount Studios Lot. The exterior of this house was also used for "Perfect Strangers" & "Family Matters". Facts I found about this property: 7 bedrooms 4 bathrooms 3,818 sq ft of floor space has a basement has a detached garage In 1974, it was sold for $80,000 Zillow estimate today is $3,172,500 This house is "A City of Boulder Landmark" If you liked Mork & Mindy or just seeing a gorgeous house, drop by and take a look! This is a private residence, so be a respectful sightseer and stay on the sidewalk. Nanu Nanu

We had the roasted half chicken for dinner with acorn spatzle, brutal sprouts, the Colorado Surf n Turf and the Gnocchi, and all were excellent. The chicken was cooked just right and Colorado trout in the Surf n Turf is spectacular. Colorado trout comes in many textures and flavors, and this version is superb. The service was top level, and the creek room in the back of the building is a hidden gem in Boulder. Was that a fruit infused vinegar? I'd want to go back and try more of the menu. Park on the west side of Arapahoe, next to the office buildings and the walk is 2 min.

The Riverside Cafe has done everything right! We sat in the "creek room" which is towards the back side of the restaurant. The decor and table settings were simple yet elegant. The Boulder Creek runs right by behind the restaurant and the views from inside are wonderful, Windows everywhere and unobstructed views. Our waiter was so great, charming and English, perhaps. He remembered my friend from the one time she had been there before, and it's always nice to be remembered. He knew everything about the food, answers for every question and suggestions about what was looking/tasting pretty amazing. The "Lunchbox" is the way to go! You have a choice of any two: soup, salad or sandwich. I chose the Caprese Panini and the Butternut Squash soup. No competition, the best soup I have ever had anywhere! Our waiter told us it was the chef's grandmothers recipe, thanks for sharing! The sandwich was awesome as well. I subbed the GF bread for $2.50, but received a whole sand which instead of just a half, I was totally ok with that! Parking is a bit of a pain, I suggest 13th St or paying at the library. What ever you have to do to get here, do it! I can't wait to go back!

But when you come in the summer it will still look the same. A removable heated tent will be erected inside and heated by geothermal heat from underneath that will be transferred underground from the dining hall kitchen's surplus stored energy. So modern in such an old structure. So when you visit this spring there is a lot of truck traffic and digging and detours around the building but you can see from the last picture, the green and the view of the Flatirons are undisturbed.

They suggested going in a counterclockwise direction which got the elevation gain done sooner and would finish with a more gradual descent. Being a sea-level creature, I did have to catch my breath a few times on the way up. Now, at the uppermost part of the loop after a bunch of stone steps, there were some all-rock areas where hunching down with a hand or two on the rock helped with balance. Afterward we noted signs on the trail allowing horses. They must have goat like abilities for those rocky parts, I thought. If you like seeing people, there were plenty during the early afternoon hours, sometimes making passing on narrow trail sections a little tricky. We got lucky with parking, going around the large grassy area only once. On the way out, we thanked the ranger for the great recommendation, gave up our parking spot to the next lucky person and went on our way, with plenty of time for our next activity.

NSF NCAR Mesa Lab Visitor Center - Bear Peak

Visiting NCAR is an extraordinary experience that should be seized by any visitor to or resident of…read morethe area. The complex was designed in 1961 by I. M. Pei, one of the greatest architects of the 20th century, and completed in 1967. Although this was his first major project, it received immediate recognition as a masterpiece of modern design and caused Pei's career to rocket. The buildings are inspired by ancient Pueblo ruins and fit seamlessly into their spectacular foothills setting, rather than trying to dominate the landscape. Meteorology first became criticality important during WWII, but basic research into our weather declined drastically after the war. The National Academy of Sciences approached Congress in 1956 to fund an institute for basic climate research. NCAR has been funded by the National Science Foundation since 1960 and is managed by a consortium of universities. One of NCAR's basic functions is to develop models of our climate and the facility has housed a series of state-of-the-art supercomputers for this purpose. Alas for computer nerds, since 2012 the latest generations of systems are now at the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center in Cheyenne (there is a nice visitor center and tour if you visit there). NCAR encourages visits by the public and is open every day at no charge. The complex sits at the top of Table Mesa and takes up 28 acres of 565 acres of City of Boulder open space. Getting there is a little tricky. You take Table Mesa Drive through a residential development. The houses suddenly end and you're on NCAR Road which twists seamlessly into the landscape and leads past the main entrance to the huge parking lot. Be careful on the rather steep road as it is used by lots of bicyclists and runners. There's a path from the parking lot to the rear of the complex. A staircase leads to the plaza and public entrance. The setting is gorgeous and there are eight hiking trails of various lengths and levels of difficulty. The main public parts of NCAR are the lobby and adjacent two-level science hall which are packed with dozens of interesting and well-done exhibits, many interactive, that explain the functions of weather and scientific research about it. There's also a small theater, a research library, and Pei's original model of the project. The public is welcome to use the large cafeteria (follow the signs from the exhibit hall) which has great views and hosts a continuing series of art exhibits. I usually stop at NCAR whenever I visit Boulder and always enjoy my time there.
