I absolutely love The Headache Center. I have been suffering from chronic migraines for about 13 years. My boss, who also suffers from chronic migraines, suggested The Headache Center to me. By that time, I had already been to multiple specialists and gone through a variety of medications with no success. They worked with me until we found something that worked. I'm currently receiving Botox injections for my migraines, and it has been the only thing I've tried that has truly helped my migraines. The team here is good about working hard to find customized treatments that make the biggest difference. But now that they are more $ucce$$ful, they have decided to overbook patients on the same time slot. They don't have any buffer times to take new patients or see urgent patients (something that should absolutely be accounted for considering that migraineurs have flare ups), so your appointment can and will get bumped, plus they close at 4:00 (half day on Fridays) (must be nice) so be prepared for a long wait. When asked about this, they are unapologetic and full of justifications and excuses instead of trying to improve. It's sad when a clinic cares more about maximizing profit over respecting patients. They do provide decent migraine care though. read more

When I relocated to the area and found The Headache Center I really thought this was a blessing. I couldn't have been more wrong. I have suffered with migraine for decades. You name the test, the medication, or the therapy I have been there and done that. At my first visit they were running about an hour behind. Okay, I understand. It happens. The same thing happened at my second visit. At both of my visits big procedures were performed. I had full blown migraine at the time and did agree to them. I also knew from past experiences my insurance would cover these procedures. Two months go by. I'm waiting to hear on a preauthorization in a migraine therapy. I call them several times for an update. I'm told the insurance lady is either on a call, not in that day, gone for the day, or some other excuse that she cannot speak to me. I then receive a bill for almost $3500 from them stating I did not have insurance at the time of my services. Thank goodness I have awesome insurance and they took over and straightened this out for me. Needless to say I DO NOT recommend this place. It is a boutique not a medical establishment. I never once saw a Doctor, only nurses. Go see a Neurologist. A Board Certified Neurologist. Don't fall for The Headache Center's chicanery. read more

They may do wonderful things for adults but not for children. I knew that the owner, Christina Treppendahl, did not have my 11 year old son's best interest in mind when she ordered an expensive and invasive test that requires an IV and sedation that he JUST had done a little over a month ago simply because she didn't have the program on her computer to read the results on the CD I brought with me. I have given this CD to an ENT, an allergist, and a PCP in different hospital systems and they had no problem reading it. When I questioned whether it was necessary and if insurance would cover the repeating test(it won't), she completely disregarded my concerns. She was willing to cause my son pain, discomfort, and put him at risk from anesthesia simply for her CONVENIENCE. Who does that?!?!?! It was only when I questioned the office staff that they attempted to have the results read. I really, really liked the tech and the first NP that we spoke to, but when the owner rushed the first NP out and took over, we could tell that she was simply trying to sell a diagnosis that only she "and three other neurologists in the country know how to diagnose." She asked my son pointed questions to elicit the response she wanted even though he had none of the symptoms of this diagnosis aside from traditional migraine symptoms. She then sent us away with pamphlets of information that I already knew from performing front page google searches. Furthermore, the medication she sent to our pharmacy were the same migraine abortives that we already had from our at home doctors, but in half the dose that he is taking now and in a form (ODT) that makes my son vomit (which I told them and requested that he be given a regular pill to swallow). She also didn't prescribe a preventative, which we had discussed with the first NP, at all, leaving us with nothing to attempt to keep the migraines from happening. We unfortunately left with fewer options and fewer answers than we had gotten from our current healthcare team. I just hate that we traveled four hours one way and lost a day of work and school for absolutely nothing. read more
