Hello, we shook hands and he held up my X-ray and said, you need a new hip. My response was, just like that? He said, yep. I said, kind of like ordering a pizza when I'm hungry, and he said yes. He was right. He did personally, call both me and my wife the evening of our surgery to check in and staff followed up the next day. My only negative is that I feel Medicare should have paid him more! Thanks Dr. Keene.

I asked him if he wanted to do the MRI suggested by the radiologist (on my leg). He said "I didn't read that" and had to go back and read it and then ordered the MRI. In my opinion, that showed a lack of interest in the detail of my injury and lack of detail in care planning. He was arrogant and disrespectful in interactions with me. He seems challenged and aggravated by educated people who ask questions. My husband is a physician, and I am a Ph.D. in psychology. He told me I would never walk again without surgery. Well, I walk well and did so without surgery. This practice was recommended to me by 2 patients previously seen there. They had a great…read moreexperience. I tried to be seen in this office. Even though I didn't get to see the Dr., I still felt it was important to write this review as a physician's office staff is also greatly important to a patient's care. I called on Monday to try and make an appointment. I followed the prompts for a new patient wanting to make an appointment and left a message, giving them the information they wanted and a short history of my symptoms and medical history. By late morning Wednesday, I had not heard back yet and decided to call again repeating the same scenario. By Friday morning I still had not heard back from the office. I called again and chose a different prompt so I could speak with someone. I was very courteous; I understand that offices can get busy, maybe the scheduler had been sick or on vacation, etc. After sharing with the woman who answered the phone that I was wanting to make an appointment but hadn't been able to, she asked to put me on hold. 5 mins later, another woman answered and asked how she could help. I shared the name of the woman who was already helping me and she said, I know, she asked me to help you. So, I asked her if I could make an appointment. She said she couldn't do that, but took my last name and let me know that the scheduler would get back to me. She didn't know when that would be and we ended the call. 5.5 hours later I finally got a call from the scheduler only for her to say that they don't see patients who have previously been in a car accident. I thought maybe she confused me with someone else. I was not in a recent accident, there was no lawsuit or workman's comp case so I shared again that it was a closed thing and it happened over 4 years ago. She repeated, "it's our office policy that we don't see patients who have been in any car accident no matter when." When I said "OK. Do you mind me asking why? I've just never heard of this." She said "sure, it's just our policy." She had this information for a week. A week longer I now have to wait to seek treatment. I'm most frustrated with how discourteous they were and unapologetic for their lack of care and waste of my time and efforts. I'm also dumbfounded on this policy of not treating patients who have, at one point in their medical history, been in a car accident. It's not a recent injury with possibility of lawsuit or workman's comp, so what do they care? I could bet that a good majority of their clients have a physical trauma of some sort in their patient history. This boarders on discrimination and speaks volumes of this office to me and the care I am seeking. I'm happy to take my business elsewhere.

Next, Dr. Tepper is an amazing chiropractor and specializes in an extremely effective technique called Active Release Technique. (A.R.T.) I have seen the doctor for several different physical problems. He is always successful in relieving and even eliminating pain, as well as, increasing mobility and range of motion. For example, I was experiencing pain in my thigh, which became increasingly worse, making it difficult to walk, bend or do simple activities. After 5-6 sessions I was able to walk 2 plus miles and continue my daily exercise routine. I also have chronic neck and back pain. Again, within a few sessions I felt 90% better. Currently, the doctor is treating both shoulders due to arthritis and other issues. It has only been 3 sessions and my range of motion has increased and pain has decreased. I highly recommend Dr. Tepper. He always takes as much time as I need to answer questions, listen to my concerns and fix the problem areas. Often, he has been able to improve what no one else has. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Tepper and his team at First Choice Chiropractic. I will happily continue treatment with him when problems arise.
