My positive experiences are due to Deborah S. Her high level of knowledge and strong customer…read moreservice (including finding an incorrect charge on my order done by another employee on her day off) )is greatly appreciated. She found me 2 perfect light fixtures that I may have missed. She arranged for my requests /orders that were only available in other cities in BC to be shipped to the Cambie store for me and provides accurate expected arrival times with email copy of invoice. Thank you Deborah for all you do for customers! I am now a loyal Robinsons customer because of YOU.

When you deal with one place that has a chain of stores you would think that product, let alone…read moreservice would be consistent around the board. While planning my washroom renovation, this was one of the stops, to see what the better stuff looks like. You can go to your Rona's and Home Depot's all you want for building supplies, but when it comes to faucet's, tubs, shower bases, shower systems, these guys carry a higher end range of product from Grohe to Riobel to Kohler you'll find some good stuff here. The place has a huge showroom, and when I was in here, walking in, amazingly enough it did not feel like a greenhouse, as you do see a ton of lights being displayed. This maybe the prettiest Robinson Lighting showroom I have seen, yet they lack service, most people I find behind a computer behind a counter. And compared to another review of mine at another location, I did not get this here, not even a smidgen close to the attention and service I received at another store. I wasn't even quoted, or given the option of a shower base I was looking for (60 x 30) and said it would take a few weeks? OK are you guys franchised here, cause I just did this transaction a few hours before entering this store. So I was quite confused with the whole matter, at the same time this store, as said, is nicely located, has great selection, and doesn't carry the cheap substitutes you might see in places like going along Bridgeport in Richmond where there are a ton of light stores. If you take pride in where you live, willing to spend more, and not wanting it to look like a cheap addition/renovation where your renting it out, or flipping it on the market, your probably coming here to get something, the only downside is the service, other than that it's not a bad store.

Reopening as Renew Period Lighting & Decorative Arts (aka "Renew Gallery"), the refreshed business is very much in the same mould of its predecessor also from renowned antique expert Eric Cohen. Renew features an extensive and eclectic collection of period lighting and fine antique pieces from all over the world in a more viewing friendly setting and atmosphere. Gone is the retail feel with its relaunch as a formal gallery and wholesaler on a bigger digital scale. The gallery appeals to all sorts of designers, builders, and architects looking for the right pieces including set decorators for Hollywood productions filmed in town. In the back, Renew features a dedicated space for carefully restoring and maintaining many of its complex artifacts to their former glory. The gallery has brought a contemporary twist to its antique business as it adapts to technology and the digital marketplace. It's a beautiful space filled with storied antiques and all sorts of collectables in great shape. It's aiming to be a new and old treasure in the city.

Solid 3.75 stars…read more Located in industrial area, was shopping on behalf of a client for vintage chandeliers and boy, talk about sticker shock LOL. $10,000. But worth it if you are designing a new restaurant in Yaletown or Gastown. great, knowledgeable service. They also offer movie rentals too. Nice showroom, looks like an art gallery.
