I research everything before I make decisions but not usually in such a rush. I was a little hesitant because my case was in Santa Barbara and their office is in LA. I wondered if I should stay with local firms who "know" the courts here. After reading all the Yelp reviews I decided to contact them anyway but it was the initial contact that sold me. I called countless attorneys and interviewed them thoroughly. I called H&M almost last but from the very first phone call I was pretty certain they were my choice of defense. Nima returned my request almost immediately, even though it was clearly after hours. Unlike most of the other law firms I contacted, H&M did not require an immediate "down payment" over the phone before I even saw any paperwork. Instead, he was sure to provide me with all documentation stating and explaining services, answered any questions I had and waited to receive my signatures before even accepting money from me. They were also the MOST reasonably priced and their quote included many extras that the other firms I contacted were charging extra for. His whole staff, from his paralegal Luis to the billing department, is kind, understanding, patient and knowledgeable. Everyone is very quick to answer questions (and I had a lot of them) and very easy to contact. Their explanations throughout the process were clear and to the point but if I needed more they never hesitated to be thorough and detailed. I'm not even local to their offices and never once stepped foot into one, but that was never an issue. I handled everything through access to a computer or my smart phone! When it came time for court dates, my attendance wasn't always necessary but there was never an issue if I wanted to be there anyway and Nima proved time and time again to be patient and explain everything that was taking place. I had a clean record, consider myself extremely responsible and don't agree with not taking responsibility for my choices and actions but this whole ordeal was very confusing to me. Nima did his absolute best and traveling to Santa Barbara to defend me was never an issue. I am not only satisfied with the outcome but I am walking away with more education than I thought I already had. I am writing this review to help people not have to go through what I went through. I got charged with a DUI and I actually did not do it. I was working 18 hour days and was just not getting any sleep. I tried to explain that to the police officer but he clearly did not care. The first thing that I did was I called Larry H Parker and that was because that was the only attorney that I had ever heard of. I quickly found out that that was the wrong type of attorney. I ended up on google and found a ton of attorneys. I finally ended up hiring a law firm that seemed like they had everything together. The partner on the law firm had cnn spots that he had one on tv listed on their website, I thought to myself if it is good enough for CNN then it is good enough for me. I called three times to the law firm and they answered my questions very quickly. I signed a retainer agreement later that day. One month went by, five messages later and I never heard from that law firm again. I started to freak out so I started to do some research on different sites, and found out that the law firm actually had 2 out of 5 stars on Yelp. I then went into panic mode. I stayed up all night and called 10 different law firms. Then I spoke to Nima and everything just changed. Out of all the attorneys that I spoke to, Nima was the only one that would not talk bad about that other attorney. Nima walked me through what had to be done if I wanted to retain their firm. I did everything that night, the next morning I had a new attorney. I got six calls from the other firm the next morning. Nima ended up having to send them a letter so that they would stop contacting me. It worked. Everything ended up working out very well. I am writing this review like I said to help people out that were in the same situation that I was. I highly recommend the h&m law firm pc. But even if you don't want to take my suggestion, just do yourself a favor and do massive amounts of research. Don't get caught up In the gimmicks and sales tactics, ask around and make sure to read reviews on different websites. You do not want to have the feeling that I had when I was sitting there with one month of messages and not knowing what the hell was going on with my case. There are some people out there that by all means should not exist. A good caring attorney is practically an oxymoron. Not at the H&M Law Firm. I remember the day I spoke with over 4 lawyers, 3 of which swore that if I didn't sign a retainer, I would be going to jail the next day. Nima was the only attorney that I spoke with, that didn't pressure me to sign up, and spent quality time on the phone with me. He was very intuitive listening to the details of my case. I feel like he knew exactly what happened, to a T. He was very confident in his explanation of his defense strategy. It made a lot more sense than what I had heard previously from the other attorneys who were more interested in hearing my credit card details. He explained how as a former prosecutor he doesn't go in there fighting, but comes from a place of experience and knowledge. Knowing exactly what the court will allow and won't allow, and every aspect of what can happen. He used all of it, to get my sentenced reduced to practically nothing. Not only is he an amazing attorney, but he's also very personable. He listened intently each time I had a concern, and talked me to late into the night. He never made me feel like I wasn't important, or like I was keeping him. He was always available, and I loved that. It makes me feel a lot better knowing I had a great attorney, because some nights you know things are out of your hands, you want to be in Nima's hands. I never had been in trouble with the law before, next thing I know I'm facing my first DUI as well as another legal issue that was completely bogus and should have never been charged for. The free consultation wasn't timed, and was more than I expected. I spoke to Dorsay first, and she calmed me down when I was completely nervous and panicking. She even explained that if I do not go with them for my case, to not go with the mail in flyers that your mail is bombarded with. She also explained to me what to look for in another DUI office if I didn't choose them. This made me feel great. I signed the retainer and Nima handled my case. The prices were reasonable, and they set me up on a payment plan so I didn't have to pay up front. I was working at the time, and I didn't have to go to court once until the end. One case ended up completely dismissed, after going back and forth for months with a difficult prosecutor. For the DUI I should have had a lot harsher sentence considering the circumstances and he got me the best deal that I could imagine. Their system is very simple, and everything is done through an online portal. They respond within a few hours every time. The moment I was released from jail I went on a wild goose chase for a good lawyer. I found Nima and gave him a call. Yelp is so amazing, I rely on them weekly for amazing restaurants so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed when it came to legal representation as well. The DUI lawyers here at the H&M Law Firm totally blew me away. After 5 minutes of talking to Nima, I knew I had finally found my guy. He became my guy when he got my charges reduced to minor infractions. My guy is the best guy and I say that from experience. Lots of people I have spoken to did not get their cases reduced and they got fined thousands of dollars. My fines were minimal and I didn't have to spend any time in jail. The funny part is that I don't even drink and the day I decided to, BAM! Talk about bad luck. My luck got better as soon as I put my trust in Nima and let him do his job. He knows the legal system very well and was able to demonstrate to me that not only is the one of the best but he really wanted the best for me as a person. I was charged with driving while under the influence and called the h&m law firm. They had handled my neighbors DUI a couple months before. They sent me their retainer agreement and I signed up within 20 minutes. My DMV hearing was scheduled and I ended up going with my lawyer for the hearing. Very interesting experience, one that I definitely do not recommend. But Nima got me through it and it went fine. Nima was talking very confidently and had very good knowledge about the law, I was very impressed. So Nima kept going to my hearings and updating me on what was going on at each one. The case got a little bit crazy and weird, I ended up getting to see a video of my arrest which was just surreal. At the end of everything I went to court with Nima and my charges were reduced. To my yelp friends, some of you I know very well, others, well, we just lurk each other. I was smart enough to earn myself a bonafide DUI. Let me tell you, it's no fun. In fact, it's more aggravating and painful than breaking my collar bone, true story. Back to the H&M Law firm, I found them here on yelp. I read review after review about what they had done for some other people, and said to myself, heck; they can probably help me too! I called about 5 attorneys that I found on Yelp, AVVO, and Google, and found H&M to be the most professional and helpful right off the bat. They were priced on the upper middle side, but then again, I lease a BMW for a reason. I think my DUI attorney, Nima Haddadi, was worth every penny. after what happened to myself, I think I am cursed or something. I don't know who I wronged, but please remove this curse from me. I went to a music festival and consumed something that I would prefer not to say, and the following morning I woke up at 6 AM to drive home to beat the traffic. (i knew I should have just ignored my alarm and slept in, but I decided to get up). I got pulled over for running a stop sign, and some how the cop managed to bamboozle me into doing sobriety tests. They took me in and they made me do a blood test, and guess what, that thing I took at the festival popped up and they slammed me with a DUI. Its insane how such an amazing weekend can crumble in a matter of seconds. so now, I get out of jail after being in there for 24 hours, and the search for my lawyer began. I called around, see who knew any good criminal defense firms and then I received the H law group's number. From the get-go I felt safe, the first attorney that I spoke to was very very very kind and made me feel like I'm safe. Sorry this review took so long for me to write. I didn't know exactly what to say until I realized exactly how good I had it with Nima at the H&M Law Firm. After I signed up, I barely had to lift a finger, I feel like everything was fully taken care of. I didn't even want to ask questions, I was in such denial about everything. Fortunately for me, I am self-employed, but I really didn't want to worry or stress about what was being done. And I don't live here, so the fact that I didn't have to worry about all the legal procedures mattered a lot for me. I just figured that his experience as a former prosecutor makes him one of the best candidates, and I should just trust him. I ended up doing just that, and things worked out very well for me. I learned the true meaning of pleading the 5th after being arrested for a DUI. I really got fooled into thinking that the officer was going to be cool with me but he was just trying to get info from me that would all just back fire on me at court. I really did not expect that being an honest citizen would actually get me in trouble, but it did! So trust me, don't be fooled. Or better yet, if you are reading this, it is probably already too late of advice to give to you, but seriously tell all of your friends and family and then tell them to call H & M Law Firm. Despite me having provided the officers with basically the only evidence they had against mw, my case was brought down completely to the minimum fine allowed by the judge. I am really grateful that I didn't have to serve any jail time or do any community service. I was driving home after a really late on a Saturday night. There was something in the middle of the freeway like a torn tire and I drove over it, lost control and hit the center divider. While I was waiting for AAA, chp came by and stupid me thinking that they actually cared to see if I was ok, after I told them that I was waiting for AAA they started questioning me and next thing I knew my car was being impounded and I was taken to the police station. I had no clue what was going on. I told them that I wanted to speak to an attorney and they said I had to wait until I was put in the tank. I was arrested in May of 2013 for DUI in Los Angeles. Mr. Haddadi was the fourth lawyer I contacted, and based upon his helpful responses and reasonable expectations, I knew he was the one to go with. Their fees are very reasonable, and even though my case dragged on for a little over a year, their rates remained fixed with no additional charges for motions being filed or court appearances. Mr. Haddadi immediately filed a motion to rescind the summary suspension on my driver's license, and within two months my driving privileges were restored. In addition, he also filed a successful motion to have my arrest quashed. After the State's motion to reconsider was rejected, there was a tense time with the possibility of the case going to the Appellate Court, but in the end the charge was dropped. I'm a big fan of giving people due credit. The Attorneys at the H&M Law Firm deserve every praise, and then some. I doubt I would have received the same representation, candor, and nonjudgmental attitude that I got from Mr. Nima Haddadi. He was devoutly professional, and had an aura of confidence that I haven't seen in a while. I'm a little older, and unlike some of the younger contributors on this forum, I feel I have a pretty good grasp in dealing with Attorneys. I was blown away, by the speed at which he returned my calls, emails, and basically every communication I sent to his office in my time of need. My brother, a Tax Attorney, couldn't believe what I was telling him. He says he rarely can respond to a client within 3-4 days, let alone 3-4 hours. Coming to LA to visit a friend, turned out to be a disaster. The cops here in LA are terrifying - and they pulled me over for absolutely no reason. Utterly amazed. The attorneys here are simply the greatest at what they do. I was stupid and made a really dumb choice which I am still coming to terms with. I got a DUI and blew a .19 BAC... I know, I had no case right? WRONG! Nima Haddadi and his band of super DUI lawyers were able to get me off on a wet wreckless. Considering I made a total ass out of myself on the camera, I was surprised he was able to do anything. Apparently I mouthed off a little to the officer to, who ABSOLUTELY showed up in court. I got a dui 3 months ago and it was the scariest experience of my life. I was in jail for a whole day before they released me. I had to call my husband to come get me (um, no one wants to have to deal with that)..
