I can tell you that getting Ross is the best money I ever spent! Don't believe if other people tell you to not bother with a attorney and just use the public defender. Especially after comparing with other fellow DUI-ers, I know I am very fortunate to have gotten a slap on the wrist compared to others. All this would not be possible without Ross- I ended up have my DUI reduced to a wet reckless (which means no dreaded socially awkward breathlyser in the car), and overall a lighter sentence than everyone else. Overall I highly recommend that you get a attorney, do not do this solo. And if you get one- get him! I chose him as he was very knowledgable, confident and reassuring. And i called over a dozen of them. In comparison- there was another attorney I spoke to was more interested in finding out how good was the club scene in Hollywood was that night than about what happened to me. Be warned that he will make you do some specific prep work (AA meetings, letter of recommendations, volunteer) - but this will all pay out when he pleads your case in court. Of course the outcome will be different for all but having him as my attorney who's got my back made a big positive difference. I got a DUI in June of 2018. I'm guilty of attorney shopping and chose the services of Ross H Sobel due to his fees being the lowest for both pretrial and DMV ($1500) and me being in financial ruins. Initially, Ross seemed amicable and interested in trying to help, but as soon as the first payment was made, communication dropped and attitude changed. I was really hoping he could help me not lose my license for a year, as I was charged with a refusal, even though I agreed to a blood test - had he worked to get AV recording, that would could have been proven, but no, he could be bothered. Furthermore, for the arraignment/ pretrial, a exclaimed he worked out an amazing plea deal that only he would be able to get, as if getting me DUI on my record and standard first time offender package was something I should be appreciative. But what really pissed me off was that the full details for this plea deal weren't communicated to me - he'll say that he's communicated all the details via phone/email/text but never really calls, only communicated via emails to get you to sign the contract and when you try showing him the texts here he informs you the details of the plea deal, proving the details weren't complete, he will insist that he did and that you are a liar. So when I questioned him if front of the judge as to why he never informed me about the MAD program, the judged asked us to step outside where we discuss the matter, and outside he angrily claim, "I know we don't like each other." It really clear that he was no longer on my side. Effectively, I felt as if I had ineffective council. Please save your money and go somewhere else. I know I should have gone with the public defender, instead of this chump pretender. read more

Wow, where do I begin? Well, first of all, getting in trouble with the law for any reason is probably one of the scariest experiences. I know that I felt confused, overwhelmed, and found myself thinking the worst. ONE OF THE BEST INVESTMENTS I'VE EVER MADE! I just finished up my last day at court with him today and he literally saved my career! Honestly can't thank him enough. I would recommend him time and time again. Having been convicted of a "wet" reckless about a year and a half ago, last month I was pulled over and charged with a 2nd DUI. Though I was simultaneously remorseful and devastated I learned from my previous charge to do my due diligence when shopping for my attorney. For my first incident a year and half ago I called the Kavinoky Law Firm and I was sold hook, line and sinker. They were the first and only law firm I called and that was my greatest mistake. They have an excellent sales person on the line which did everything short of promising me all would be forgiven. "Don't worry we have a great relationship with that courthouse. We'll take care of you." They went on boasting about all of their media attention. Long story short, the lawyer they assigned to me was always unavailable, never returned my calls and cancelled all 3 in person meetings until I finally snapped. After I went off on him over the phone he confessed his law firm gives him too many cases to properly work and their number one goal was to charge as much as possible. OK...NOW I can talk about my experience with Ross. I just needed to paint the picture of my previous experience to better appreciate how well Ross took care of me and my case. Learning from past experience I did my homework and after I called about 15+ attorney offices all over Los Angeles, I reached out to Ross to see what he thought of my case and compare his services with the others I previously called. I can tell you the FIRST thing that blew me away was the UNDIVIDED ATTENTION he gave me and what I felt to be a true concern for my case. It's true that most other attorneys gave me a lot of attention on my first call since that's how they make their money. One other thing I can say about Ross is the fact that he is readily available and ALWAYS returns your call in a short turn around period. As soon as I requested an in person meeting he made himself available. Long story short, I did my best to do all that he requested and he dropped my 2nd DUI charge to a "dry" reckless or "exhibition of speed." Also he had DMV completely dismiss my case or as they call it, "set aside." My license is active and NOTHING will appear on my DMV MVR record!
