My family and I were visiting just for a week and this gym has a week membership for 30$. Really great price! The gym has like 5-6 cardio machines. Most of the gym is built around free weights though, which I loved. They have two flat benches, one of which is really thick and fat which is so nice. They have one incline and decline bench. They only have one squat rack and no deadlift platforms. Other than this they have your typical cable pulleys and enough dumbbells. Great people! The Gym was one of my vacation highlights... felt like a little kid on a brand new playground, ha! Friendly, helpful staff that make you feel welcomed, as are the other members & guests that I encountered throughout my week in town. Daily & weekly guest passes available at very reasonable costs. Though the gym is open 24/7 for it's members, guests are permitted to visit during desk hours only. Desk hours are 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday & 8am - 12pm Saturday - Sunday. Equipment is older, but works efficiently & has all the basics + more. Free WiFi & onsite chiropractor. Ryan, the owner, I saw offers one-on-one training as well. Makes my home gym look like a joke... wish I could pack this place up & take it home with me. read more

Daily pass for $7 so that was perfect for me because I was only in the area for a short time. They have weekly passes too. Small gym with really junky, old equipment and a few machines that were out of order. Had plenty of free weights though and enough to get the job done. Very friendly staff. I have been exercising at The Gym for the past year. Great place for those serious about fitness. Provides all the equipment needed to build a better body. The equipment does have a little age on it, but is in good working order and provides all the benefits of new equipment. The membership is offered with no contract and at a very reasonable price per month. The key FOB is an option provided for 24 hour access to the gym. I personally have never had an issue with mine. Also, The Gym is staffed Monday thru Saturday. Check The Gym out and decide for yourself. I'm a fan! read more

This is not an LA Fitness or other type of chain health club. It was a gym, where people the people are concerned about how they look when their done, and not how they look while doing it. Very affordable and good quality. The equipment might be well-used, but works great and is kept clean. I trained with Ryan while in town for a short time. He was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and encouraging. I only had 3 sessions and feel like positive changes already started. I will definitely go back whenever I'm in town. I used this Gym while on vacation at NMB for years. The owner and staff are really friendly to out of towners, and the price was very reasonable. Tom L. is right, if you are a poser, this place is not for you, but this gym has everything you need to get the job done. The equipment may not be cutting edge, but it was quality stuff in its day and they keep it very well maintained. 24 hour access to boot. Highly recommend! read more

been loyal members for two years,,,,,, no upgrades of any kind in that time, not even simple painting, carpet is nasty, torn, and dirty.... very old equipment, circa 1980' s , that breaks frequently.... newest elliptical machine broken for last 4 months or so, nothing done....actually very old cardio equipment across the board, again 1980's... even the one and only generic bathroom needs some serious tlc, ... owners/ staff are ok but are not mentally geared towards advancing business or improving at all... their happy with just getting by with as least as possible.. if your vacationing for a few days you can get it done but im now changing gyms as my wife and I are just tired of so-so attitude with us being a full time members... must nicer and newer out there for around the same price if you shop... From competitors to beginners, I witnessed all types of bodies and abilities in The Gym. Ryan provides training to all, and hes super knowledable. My wife and I went to Myrtle Beach on vacation and looked online for a gym that was nearby our rental. The Gym was close so we drove by before we decided on which place to join for the week. From the outside The Gum doesn't give you a great impression but if you're looking for a place that's no B.S. The Gym is the place I would recommend. It has everything you need to get the job done. The staff is very polite and helpful. The people that workout there are nice but want to work their bodies and not their mouths which I appreciate. The music they play is so good that I stopped using my headphones. I wish my gym played the same stuff. I gave The Gym 4 stars but only because some of the equipment is built for taller people and limited us a bit. I would give it 4.5 stars if the Yelp app would let me. Bottom line is The Gym is small but mighty and I would recommend it to anyone that's going to be in NMB for a short time. Especially at the guest rate of $20 pp for the week. Not sure what the monthly membership is. read more
