It is great for a nice dinner to sit down and enjoy a meal. We ordered quite a few appetizers and entrees to share as this was our last night here. We started with some raw oysters, smoke fish croquette ($9.50 each), focaccia bread ($9) with artichoke dip ($12), seafood chowder ($30), and the beef tartare ($28). Our favorites were probably the oysters and the focaccia bread with the spread. The oysters were fresh and we enjoyed trying them all. The focaccia bread went great with the spread as the bread was warm and the spinach dip was a nice cool dip to match. The bread was also perfect to dip in the chowder. For the entrees, we ordered a side of green beans ($14), fettuccine ($27|$37), Lumina Lamb Backstrap ($19 per 100g), and the Japanese wagyu ($85 per 100g). Our favorite out of everything was the wagyu. The lamb was delicious but it's not comparison after you have a bite of the wagyu. The Wagyu was cooked perfectly. The meat was not too thick of a piece to cut. The green beans were a great side to go along with the meal. The almonds added a nice crunch to the green beans. Overall, we enjoyed our meal very much. We felt that this restaurant was a perfect way to end our stay in Wellington!

We enjoyed a lovely dinner last night here at the Jardin Grill restaurant…read more Being a First Table diner with our two friends, we arrived here early by 6pm. Our friendly Chinese waitress took our entree and mains orders shortly afterwards. We all shared two octopus entrees which was quite nice and not too chewy. My nicely presented medium-rare chargrilled rib-eye steak mains tasted somewhat burnt. I asked our waitress afterwards whether it was supposed to have a burnt flavour, to which she replied it was supposed to be like that. Nevertheless I ate it all. The porta-bella mushroom side that accompanied it was however very small. Very expensive for $59.00 though!! My three other friends all seemingly enjoyed their meals with no complaints. However when paying the bill at the end of the evening, I was quite shocked to find out that I was charged $7.00 for a small glass of Diet Coke. Just as well everything was eventually charged half price for being a First Table diner!!

First time eating Kangaroo, tastes similar to a Ribeye. Wife had the lamb which I think was the best part of the entire meal. Also, if you enjoy wine. The three cheese tasting plate was great. I recommend the Brie, Cheddar, and Gorgonzola which paired nicely with the wine. If you are traveling from out of town and staying at the hotel I highly recommend you check it out. I thought it was better than the other options for dinner in the city.

Ask the waiter three times to make sure it is not over cooked. The steak came out medium WELL.
