Frank Lloyd Wright's Gordon House in Silverton, Oregon
    Rachel H.

The Gordon House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright at the tail end of his career and built after his death. It's the only Frank Lloyd Wright home in the Pacific Northwest that is open to public touring by appointment. How the Gordon House came to live in Silverton, Oregon is a bit of a story, although oddly it is not actually far from its original home (about 30 miles away.) Its a great story of preservation in the face of a shortsighted attempt by new owners to demolish this original Usonian home. There are only three Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the Pacific Northwest, and the others are privately owned, so being able to visit this house is a unique opportunity. We appreciated the intimate personalized tour. We were able to arrange ours a day ahead of when we were going to be in the area, and our call was returned within the hour. The tour cost $10 a person, a bargain. The tour guides are volunteers, mainly retired, passionate architecture buffs, but clearly they do this out of love for FLW and the house. The guide we had was very knowledgeable and passionate about the building and its legacy. The Gordon House is remarkably well preserved for a home that needed to be moved in 4 pieces across Oregon and reassembled in Silverton. It's a must see for any Frank Lloyd Wright fan or architecture buff.

A Frank Lloyd Wright house for you to enjoy. Make a reservation, show up on time and see FLW's take on a middle class farmer's home. The docents will do a great job and you'll learn something not just about Wright, but about American architecture overall.

The only Frank Lloyd Wright house in Oregon! And what a house! The architecture is obviously out of this world but you have to see it with your own eyes. The docents are fantastic and know literally every single thing about FLW, the house, and the area. Highly recommend stopping here for the tour if you're in the area - very special, one-of-a-kind experience!

Interesting tour! Great guide and good length, not too long or too short. Group was very large so it was hard to see everything well. Glad we had a Groupon - way too expensive otherwise.

Rooms were clean although maybe in need of a touch of updating. No noise from neighbors. Didn't access the back patio bc of uncooperative weather, but seems like would be a nice place to hang out in warmer/drier seasons. The lodge serves lunch and dinner and we noticed live music on Thursday nite -- and a happy hour that starts at 9pm. Free breakfast buffet (with a gorgeous view and friendly waitstaff) and access to the Oregon Garden were great bonuses! Really not too far away from downtown Silverton and a nice spot for peace and quiet and quality time with your hunny bunny.

The rooms are very nice and situated in quad plexs for every 4 rooms and done very well ! Most of the rooms have fireplaces and if you like flowers and the sweet smell of them , this place abounds with that aroma ! I knew my wife would love it and she did ! The restaurant was nice and we both had the Ribeye steaks last night and they were exceptional ! Appetizer we shared were coconut prawns. We then each had a slice of warm pie to round out our dinner ! Mmm,mmm good ... Our bellies were smiling ! :-) This morning we both booked appointments at their moonstone spa and both had superb massages ahhh! We highly recommend this true resort without question !

Even though the plants' condition in March leaves a lot to be desired, as not very much is coming into season yet, there was plenty to take in. The variety of landscaping/hardscaping is impressive, the views incredible, the plant collection inspiring (even my very non-aggie partner took notes on what we could possibly incorporate into our own yard). It's obvious that plenty of care and planning went into the garden spaces. Highlights for me included the conifer forest and the wetlands areas. The Lewis and Clark pathway with its stonehenge-like pillars was neat too. Each section has its own hidden treasures and spaces for reflection. Would love to come back in spring or summer to see what's changed.

It's such a beautiful place to spend a few hours -- and best of all, it's DOG-FRIENDLY! The gardens are full of flowers, water features, and themed areas that delight the senses. And don't miss "Mr. Ed," the Sea Serpent sculpture. There have been different versions over the years, but the current one is hands-down the best. My personal favorite area is the Conifer Garden, one of the largest collections of dwarf and miniature conifers in the U.S. Some are rare, one-of-a-kind specimens gathered from around the world. On our visit, the day was hot and humid, but stepping into the Conifer Garden felt like the temperature and humidity dropped instantly. The Rediscovery Forest is also worth checking out if you're into learning about forest management. So worth a visit.

She took my jumble of ideas and created a beautiful event we were able to share with our friends and family. It was a day filled with joy and happiness that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. You expect your wedding planning to be stressful and the day to be chaos. Not so with Reese and her team on your side. I never felt overwhelmed. Whenever I had a moment of panic, worrying I'd missed something important, I checked in with her and was assured she'd keep me on track. And she did. Everything came together beautifully and our wedding day was beyond what we could have hoped for. And we were able to enjoy every moment. Every detail was lovely. The tables were beautiful, the decor gorgeous, the ceremony and reception exactly what we hoped for. I took her advice on vendors and as a result had stunning floral arrangements, food everyone raved about, and music that kept our booties moving. There isn't a thing we would change about our wedding day and so much of that is due to the support and hard work of Reese and the CDS team. I've raved about her but truly truly her entire team is hardworking and just stellar.

I had a really specific vision for my wedding and she was able to help me put it all together beautifully. Any time I needed a suggestion, she had one. With her extensive vendor list and huge selection of rentals, she had an answer for everything. I always felt super comfortable and able to be myself and that made everything so much more comfortable. And then, as is she weren't amazing enough pre-wedding, on the wedding day so was a downright super hero. She checked in on me, set everything up to perfection, and took the burden of troubleshooting little issues that arose without needing to take me away from getting ready and enjoying my day. I worked with her the most but she also brought in other staff to help, both before and during the wedding, and they were also just lovely. I would pay twice as much as I did for these guys! My husband was skeptical about hiring anyone at first, but he agrees now that hiring Century Decor was the best decision we made!

Here, you frequently find live music (polka!), beers, ciders and other beverages on tap, a modest if unspectacular grill (Pro Tip #1: eat elsewhere during festive events), and actual restrooms (Pro Tip #2: forget the Honey Buckets; use these)!
