Dainty White Gold Necklace
Alexander D.

I was in a huge rush as I was leaving to catch a train to Naples and they were a huge help on getting me a new white gold chain for my pendant. While I tried on chains they began to help me process paperwork for taxes which was amazing. There service was impeccable and because gold is sold by the weight you get a great deal after the discount.

Diamond cut white, yellow and black gold. Very comfortable ring.

We ended up coming to Firenze as a cruise excursion to see David. Part of the tour was to be dropped off at this Jewelry shop as our meeting point after we wonder around, shop and eat. After we had our lunch, we decided to checkout the jewelry at this store. As we were walking in, there was a guy dressed and looked like a vampire in black, wearing more gold jewelry than anyone ever should. Immediately I was asked if I needed or wanted anything by several people. I looked at several over priced pieces and as we were about to leave, I saw a tri-color diamond cut ring. It was simple and elegant. Italians are the masters of diamond cutting. There were no diamonds on this ring but it sparkled as if it was encrusted in diamonds. Of course I paid more than what I would have paid here in the States. But this design and black gold, I have never seen. Florence/Firenze is famous for their gold. I had to get something to remember this trip. There are plenty of jewelry stores in the area, but these guys had the better designs that were original and better quality. If you're planning on using your credit card, make sure to have your passport for the Duty Free prices.

Out in Florence for the day, while on a tour. I love gold so had to stop by. Great service, friendly staff and I walked away with a bad ass 14kt yellow gold flower ring and multicolored14kt bracelet! I can't wait to come back again. If you want a quality jewelry this is the place to come.

Sell Sell Sell, that is how I felt coming into here. We came as a group and I got bored and wandered off during one of the instructions/sales pitches. I was immediately swarmed by sales people who's only goal was to get me to load up with stuff. Only to tell me %50 off come this way for jackets. I walked back on my own being to our group being followed the whole time. When they realized I was with a group they immediately left went back to their area. The jewelry was nice and my wife bought a bracelet. Overall we felt very pressured and more in a tourist sales pitch. The quality was very nice but the sales pressure was overwhelming.

Bracelet was broken when I woke up. Found the chain on my bed.

Oh my goodness, what a charming little shop I stumbled upon!…read more This is a true hidden gem, away from the touristy Ponte Vecchio shops and other major attractions of Florence. A small display case hanging on the wall outside the shop first caught my attention and when I peeked inside the shop through the door, I saw how truly tiny this shop was. I just had to go in. Barely bigger than your pantry closet, inside sat a petite, elegant Japanese lady who warmly greeted me. There were so many lovely pieces inside the shop, all handcrafted by Hiroko, the owner and creator. After spending some time, I went with my gut instinct and asked Hiroko to show me a pair of earrings hanging in the outside display case made with pearls and amethyst. My partner purchased this beautiful pair for my mom as a special gift from Florence. Hiroko asked me who these were for, and when I said they are for my mom, she packaged it with such care and attention to detail in a small drawstring gauze bag and then in a black paper back finished with a ribbon, folded so it sits flat inside my suitcase. I am not a big jewelry wearer but this shop made me consider getting my ears pierced again! There is a handful of small, artisanal unique stores in Florence that I would come back to and Lo Spillo is definitely one of them.

The husband and wife owners were incredibly kind and helpful. We had looked at many "jewelry stores" in Florence, however, Volterrani & Raddi was a legitimate, professional, family-run business, not a tourist trap. We were supposed to return to Florence in 2020. I had hoped to purchase a Florentine Style Engraved Bangle Bracelet that I saw on their website. Unfortunately, the pandemic broke out, and we were forced to cancel our trip. We have now rescheduled for 2022. But if there's one lesson the pandemic has taught us, who knows what will happen a year from now? I've tried contacting Volterrani & Raddi on at least 3 occasions, with no response. Does anyone know......Is the store still open and/or in business? Or, is there another contact besides the email listed on their website? If you're in search of high-quality, handmade jewelry in Florence (vs. the mass-produced gold jewelry targeted at tourists, I highly recommend Volterrani & Raddi.
