It's obvious he has been doing this for a long time and is very knowledgable. He explained to us that some of the pieces were just 'costume' jewelry and had no value. There were about 10-12 pieces that had gold, silver, and some diamonds. He explained that the value was based on market rates and made us an offer that seemed fair, so we accepted. We had come with plenty of cash to spend, and were cordial and kind in our greetings when we entered the store. First impression is that the place needs a thorough cleaning. It is filthy. The owner barely acknowledged us and acted like we were interrupting him from something more important than minimal customer service. It seemed like was too much of an effort to establish even a basic customer rapport. After a few questions where we received grunting, hostile replies, we departed without a purchase. In contrast, there another pawn shop just a few doors down that was bright, clean, friendly and the prices were far better. We'll be shopping for more future purchases there. Prices at Buy & Sell Depot are completely unrealistic. We would have left zero stars, but you need to leave at least one to post a review. Don't waste your time or money there.

Went here to sell some gold with my sister. Before I went I did my homework, checked spot prices…read moreand sorted all the gold into 14K and 10K with a jewelers loop. I weighed and calculated the price I would like to get and the min price I would accept based on reasonable profit margin, FULLY expecting I would have to haggle price. Top price you can expect for gold (unless premium brand gold Tiffany's etc or rare vintage pieces) is 80% of melt value. I inspected each piece with a jewelers loop to find markings. We showed up right around closing time (they close at two) but they had a gent in the room already. I was greeted by the father and told they would take us as soon as they finished up (around 15 minutes,) if we wanted to wait. We were taken in, VERY courteous, polite, friendly and professional. I was impressed the son could recognize most of the pieces without a jewelers loop and those few he couldn't he put through a spectrometer and got confirmation instantly. The whole process took approximately 15 minutes... and we had a lot of pieces. In the end their offer was EXACTLY (within a few dollars) of the top price I expected to get. Paid cash on the spot. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that if you want a very positive experience... especially if you are not educated on value, to see this father and son team. I would not hesitate to trust their assessment of gold value now even if I didn't know a thing about it. If I could give a 10 star rating out of 5 I would.
