I recently went through a divorce. Before coming to Billy, I hired a big shot attorney in Knoxville that was absolutely worthless. After she represented me for 30 days, I quickly realized that she wasn't vested in me or my case. She sold me a bill of goods but after she received my money. She wouldn't return my calls, and she would not listen to what my concerns are. She just kept saying. I do this everyday and let me lawyer for you. See, I knew that my case was going to be a hard one, and I strategized for 3 years before filing for divorce. My previous attorney's legal advice had my case going sideways really fast. I had a sick feeling in my gut. So I reached out to Billy to get advice about my case. He had the answers that I already knew was true but my current lawyer ignored. So I gladly walked away from a 3500 retainer fee, and paid Billy a new retainer. Billy took time and listened to me. Then he emotionally vested his self and time into my case. He used everything that I gave him with a list of embarrassing interogatories, restraining orders, and contempt charges. After he dropped off our discovery, the next call was let's schedule mediation and settle. Where as before, my exwife wanted to try our case in front of the judge, and act like she was the victim. So after 10 hours of meditation, (which Billy never took another call or stepped out of the room). I had his undivided attention. At the end of mediation, he settled our divorce and I am not paying 1 cent in alimony. We divided assets equally, and I didn't have to conceed on one issue. So, if you truly want an attorney that's reasonable and cares deeply about the client. Then you should hire Attorney Billy Gribble. Especially if you are getting divorced in Knoxville. He's not in the downtown Knoxville attorney club. My ex-wife and her big shot Knoxville Down Town attorney got it handed to her solely because of my decision to fire my other attorney and hire Attorney Billy Gribble. Bob actually tried to talk me down from our initial agreement of in alimony from my husband, when I was not working and was recovering from a major illness that required 3 years of treatment and recovery, while my husband was working at ORNL and earning just under $200,000/year. I was incredulous that Bob's words as he took me aside were, "We have to leave him enough to live on." I insisted that he agree to the initially discussed offer of $500 more! I was going to be on COBRA to the tune of $700/month for just 3 years. He did not inform me that I was entitled to half of my husband's retirement for the duration of our 20 years of retirement. He signed our QDRO after reviewing it, and still did not inform me of this, despite the fact that my husband did not report that as one of our assets. I discovered this several years later, he insisted that he had never been my attorney of record, despite the fact that he had signed our final divorce decree as my divorce attorney. Bob was a horrible attorney who left me high and dry - he was the antithesis of an advocate, and I recommend him to no one. I am sincere as to the veracity of every statement I make here. I have not embellished or distorted a single statement in this review. I have spoken with at least 3 individuals related to me, who described serious mistakes; failures; or just plain ignorance on Bob's part in serving as their attorney.
