Our 2 children were enrolled full time at Goddard for 14 months before the owner suggested we move on due to lack of trust in April. We can certainly attest that the director, Ms. Dee, is incredibly hardworking and kind and she always put a great effort towards running a tight ship. We received an email from the owner saying that Goddard was cited for running over ratios (look up reports for any preschool on https://ncchildcare.ncdhhs.gov/childcaresearch ). When we replied expressing our discomfort with how the situation was handled, she suggested that we move on since we no longer trust her. It totally blind sighted us because we had previously had a positive relationship. It felt like we were just another number and she's going to move on to the next name in her wait list. We are happy this happened because it gave us an opportunity to compare with other centers. We didn't like that kids were given iPads at Goddard and were happy to find that is not the case elsewhere. Several centers provided meals (Goddard does not) and had more opportunities for water play and sports exposure (soccer lessons, basketball lessons, basketball court, splash pad area). We also weren't thrilled that lessons were shown at Goddard on a small computer screen with kids gathered around. There are plenty of happy parents at Goddard. We were pleased with Goddard at first and have met wonderful teachers. We didn't appreciate how the owner treated us and are happy to have found alternatives that a better fit for our needs. read more

On 9/29/2020, I came to pickup my infant daughter from @Goddard school in Wake Forest, NC and they brought the wrong child to the door. I had to signal through the glass portion of the door that the child was not mine. When I asked the owners what corrective measures they have set in place to prevent this from happening, they couldn't answer the question. Instead Tom's wife tried to deflect that it was not an issue since I did not leave with the child. I didn't because I stopped it!! Tom and his wife were not remorseful and asked me if I wanted to continue with them or not!!! The school should be held countable for this gross mistake. I will speak up for my sister do not trust these individuals they use employees until they have no use for them they have favoritism towards certain employees allowing them to break rules my sister has been threatened to loose her sons spot and more from her absences due to my nephew getting sick and her as well other employees call out all the time and their job isn't threatened and they just kept picking to find a reason to terminate her but lesson learned the same thing my sister was terminated for she has proff that other employees were allowed to break the phone rule we will be going to eeoc and this discrimination will not go unnoticed it's been going on at this place to long. The turn over rate for employees here is horrible and now I see why how my sister was done here. Her domestic business was also discussed with other employees and my sister was approached in target and the girl stated I'm going through the same thing as you I asked the girl how do you even know that. Trust the management here is messy. My sister has always been a loving caregiver and goes over and beyond people like this should not be supported at all. My daughter started in the infant room at the Goddard School in Wake Forest when she was four months old. She is our only child and I was having a difficult time adjusting to the idea of going back to work. I could not have made it through the transition without the love and support of the wonderful Goddard staff! They have truly become part of our family. The teachers, directors and owner are all actively involved in the care of each and every child. Our daughter has learned so much in the past year, including language development, motor skills, communication via sign language, and social skills. Goddard is a top-notch facility that provides an outstanding educational experience in a safe and loving environment. We have absolutely loved our time at Goddard and look forward to the years ahead! My son graduated from The Goddard School Wake Forest a few years ago (he's in 3rd grade now). The Goddard School more than adequately prepared him for kindergarten. The owners have all of the children's best interests at heart, as does all of the staff. Sure, there's a decent amount of teacher turn-over, but that's pretty typical in this industry. There's also a decent amount of teachers who stay long-term as well. After trying another school with my daughter (not because I wasn't happy with The Goddard School, but because I wanted to see how other schools compared), I enrolled my daughter in The Goddard School after trying the place a stone's throw down the street for about 6 months. Should have just enrolled her here from the start.... She is genuinely excited to go to the school each and every day! The school has an amazing staff that truly cares about each child and teaches them not only skills they will need in further education but life skills that they will need forever. Our daughter attends The Goddard School in Wake Forest NC. It is by far the best early childhood education center we have had the pleasure of attending in the area-- and we will let her for sure, finish out her preschool career there. Goddard's focus on the whole child and learning in the moment hits home for us because it allows children to develop as an individual and find their likes/dislikes and hone in on what they are passionate about. There are other schools out there that have the look and feel of "hot houses" for children--Goddard is the complete opposite. There is loving, caring staff that have the depth of early childhood education that by far surpasses other centers. She is happy and fufilled and that makes for happy parents. She always is brimming with fabulous things to share about her day. We highly recommend The Goddard school because they raise the bar on the early childhood development experience. read more

As my son approaches his preschool graduation from the Goddard School in Wake Forest, I have had some time to reflect on his experience at this wonderful school. Prior to attending Goddard, we had a terrible experience at one of the larger, corporate daycares. At three years old, my poor little guy was sobbing on the way to this prior school and I felt terrible leaving him there. I quickly researched other options and arranged a tour with Goddard's owner, Tom. My first impressions of the school were so positive. Over the past two years Goddard has managed to surpass all of my expectations. The building is warm, cheerful, and extraordinarily clean. The rooms do not reek of disinfectant, as I have found in other preschools. There are ample toys, games and books, but the rooms are not overwhelmingly packed; plenty of room for free play for the children. The outside area has huge umbrellas to shade the children on hot days and a lot of safe, sturdy play equipment. My father was in law enforcement, so I am always looking for the loopholes in security. This is one of the biggest advantages of Goddard in Wake Forest. The school is separated from Rogers Road by a trench that would be insurmountable by a car, even if one happened to stray from the road. In addition to black wrought iron fencing, the school maintains lovely bushes and trees that make the schoolyard nearly imperceptible by passing traffic. When entering the lobby through the main door, there are windows into the two offices - one belonging to the owner and the other for the director and assistant director. Beyond the windows is the secured door to enter the school. Almost every day the owner Tom is in the lobby greeting each parent and child as they enter the school. This is the highest level of security to me. As polite parents, we know how often it seems correct to hold the door open for another parent - regardless of security concerns. Tom ensures that this does not happen during the busiest time periods by acting as gatekeeper for the school. The same level of security applies during the most important part of the day - picking up your child. My son's grandparents came by to pick him up one afternoon and they were asked to provide ID, in order for Goddard to release my son to them. Even though his grandparents may have been familiar faces, the Goddard staff does not take chances with your child. I am a high school English teacher, so my expectations for his learning goals were very high, in addition to the loving care and safety Goddard provides. The teachers provide structure and learning activities, but do not quash the children's inherent curiosity to explore. The teachers maintain a portfolio of student work and also provide daily reports on the activities for the day. This allows parents to discuss and extend the learning that happens in the classroom. My son can be quite shy, but the teachers always find ways to coax him out of his shell without pressure. He is very proud of his accomplishments and has many positive comments to share at the end of every day. I have great relationships with all of his teachers and they always share any concerns with me the day that the concern arises. I am certain that his growth in this positive educational environment will help him so much when he enters kindergarten next year. My son has had a wonderful experience at Goddard in Wake Forest. He loves his teachers and has made good friends with his little buddies in his class. I was very worried that when I went back to work I would have to feel guilty about how my son spends the majority of his days. I feel so lucky that we found this preschool, because he always looks forward to going to school. And, I have never once felt "mommy guilt" when dropping him off. This positive experience will likely have a life-long impact on my son's overall approach to school and learning. read more

All three of our children have attended the Goddard School in Wake Forest over the last four years - our oldest started when she was three, our middle child started around 1 year old, and our youngest has been attending since he was only a few months old. So we've seen it all - from the baby classroom where the teachers are so engaged and caring with the little ones to the pre-K classroom where the kids are learning and playing and preparing for Kindergarten. Throughout the various classrooms, I've seen a great balance of learning and play and socialization with peers. Our older two were incredibly prepared for elementary school, both academically and socially, which I attribute in large part to their experiences at the Goddard School. The owners are great and very present/involved in the day-to-day activities of the school - - our older two who have since graduated from the Goddard School are always excited to visit the owners when we go to pick up our youngest. It's never easy to go back to work and trust others with your kiddos - but it is certainly easier knowing they're at a place where they are well cared for, safe, and learning and playing every day. read more

RUN AWAY! Management can't keep directors, teachers or teaching assistants. If you consider this school ask the teachers how long they have been there and don't expect management to give you honest answers. They will tell you turnover is the same at other schools but if you compare you will find that to be false. We are still at the school but hoping to leave soon along with many others. If you become unhappy for whatever reason they will not let you leave without 30 days notice. Some of the teachers were great but they aren't there anymore. There is always an excuse but it never has anything to do with the school and when your child is here you want to believe what they are saying is true but when you have seen 10+ teachers and directors come and go in a year there is a problem. There are lots of other things that go into my 1 star rating but they all boil down to this core issue and i don't want school to know who i am and risk being kicked out like he did to one parent who called to complain to franchise corporate office. read more
