My experience working here was extremely disappointing due to poor management and an overall unhealthy work environment. Leadership is very controlling, and communication with staff is consistently poor. There is little transparency, and staff are often left out of decisions that directly affect their classrooms. You may be told you'll. be in one class, then switched last minute. And if you finally find a co-teacher you work well with, don't get too comfortable because management will break that connection up quickly.
I was ultimately fired due to the call-out policy. However, I do not feel that reflects my overall work ethic or dedication. I showed up, worked hard, and cared deeply for the children in my care.
Management does not handle staff concerns appropriately. If you express how you feel, it is often labeled as "disrespectful" instead of being heard. They claim to be a no-gossip workplace, but gossip is still very present, including management making jokes about parents being "annoying," which is unprofessional.
There is also a strong focus on appearance over reality. Social media, is prioritized and does not accurately reflect the day-to-day environment. Parents are made to believe it is one of the best schools, but the reality is different. The focus feels more on enrollment and money than improving staff conditions or addressing issues. Staff constantly quitting is very high, yet leadership does not try to understand why employees keep leaving.
Serious concerns have also been raised in the past regarding staff behavior toward children, including reports of hitting, and those individuals were still allowed to continue working. Favoritism is also very clear, with some staff treated better than others.
There are also safety concerns that are not taken seriously enough. Teachers who have children in their classroom who are not yet walking are still expected to manage getting them down unsafe steps to get to the the gym, without adequate support or assistance.
On top of that, work-life balance is basically nonexistent. If you have children of your own, it feels like you have to choose between being a parent and being an employee. Even in situations where your child is sick, there is an expectation that you should still prioritize the job above everything else.
While there are many wonderful teachers who truly care about the children, management takes away from what could be a great environment. read more
