I would pick my son up and he would have boogers on his nose/face dried up and crusty. When I would give my child a bath at home after the day, he'd have dried up feces on his underwear due to them not wiping the kids after they use the restroom. The teachers in each class were young, inexperienced, and ignorant. Anytime I made a complaint about the care of my child (that I pay them for) they would gas light and manipulate things to make it my fault that they were not caring for my son properly. I also witnessed a couple of the teachers getting super impatient with the kids and sometimes toss them around and scream at them, it honestly broke my heart. The manager Mary was the worst part of it all. Instead of taking the responsibility for her own KinderCares failures, she decided to blame the kids! We did look at another daycare but I didn't feel comfortable. We finally talked to Melissa at KC-John Humphrey and gave it a try. To be honest I wasn't thrilled about the idea of a "commercialized" daycare. Melissa and all the staff/teachers are absolutely incredible. They made the transition easy. They even helped and accommodated as we transitioned our son from home purees to table food; from formula/BM to dairy milk/water. We saw so much growth and development in our lil guy after just a couple weeks. The app is great for communication and just seeing how our son's day is going/went. They are very diligent about children's health. Although it was hard, our son had to stay home a couple times because of sickness that had similar symptoms to Covid (but wasn't). I can appreciate the effort. I wouldn't want other kids to expose our son in the same situation. They followed up on his "sick days" just to check in on him. The ONLY reason we are leaving this center is because we're moving to Elgin. We've only been going to KCJH for about 5 months and will truly miss the team. They genuinely care about the children and families. On another note, our transition to an Elgin KC has been seamless as well. We look forward to the same caring staff up north. For all the new parents struggling decide to send your child(ren) to daycare in the OP area, send them to KCJH. You become a better parent because of the reduced stress/mental break and the child(ren) love it.

They are so caring, patient, and attentive, and it's obvious they truly know and care about every child in their class. They create an environment where learning is fun, children are encouraged to be independent, and curiosity is celebrated. I love their Montessori approach. The classrooms are organized and thoughtfully prepared while still allowing children the freedom to explore, learn through play, and develop at their own pace. It's the perfect balance of structure and independence. One of the things that stands out most is the small class sizes and excellent communication. I always feel informed about what's happening, and I know my daughters are getting the attention they deserve. The owner is also amazing--she genuinely cares about the children, the families, and the quality of the program. You can see her passion in every aspect of the school. I've experienced other childcare settings where kids are simply handed toys and left to entertain themselves, and this is the complete opposite. I totally understand that these reviews are very important for penny lanes business. This is why I took the time to write out the review. For parents seeking child care for their children and wanting to make the best decision. Actually, some of the things that you stated in your reply was very inaccurate such as my reason to leave the daycare. We left due to having so many incidents occur and the lack of incidents reports being made and also lack of accountability. Most of the time my daughter was sent home from daycare with cuts and bruises. Teachers were unable to explain what happened due to them "not being around" or "leaving early for the day" so she was left in the care of substitute teacher and no one in the daycare could find whichever "substitute teacher "was in the class in at the time to explain the constant injuries. Also, on August 11th I was called into penny lanes due to my child having a busted lip and chipped tooth. I expressed my concerns to the director of the daycare Ms.Laura she responded back to me and let me know if I wanted my child to not have so many incidents I needed a nanny. Which I was completely token back by. I understand things happen in a daycare but as a director for that to be the response back to a concern parent is very insensitive. Also, to double back to the abrupt departure. Laura allow us to leave without putting in the 2 week notice due to not us moving but me being so uncomfortable with my child being enrolled under you guys care second longer. Her last day was that Thursday morning November 6th due to another unreported incident. My daughter was enrolled in for a year. I have never once received a weekly paper meal plan in advance. My child was there 5 days a week and 8-8.5 hrs a day. So I understand that health and safety is the utmost importance but it's seems like the ball was dropped multiple times with my child. Also, is always a lack of accountability. This is not the blame game. If I'm paying for a good quality daycare I expect the best quality health and safety for my child. What I love most about this place is their staff, their level of care, patience, and attentiveness goes far beyond what we could have hoped for. They once called me to pick up my son because he would not take a nap and they needed to take a break. Every single day when I pick up my son he's crying for water bc they never give them water. Every time I voiced my concerns to the Director Anita she would brush me off by being "customer service"by that I mean she would say " I am so sorry to hear that, I will talk to them" things will be good for like two days before going back to nasty normal. Either she didn't do much about it or the teachers do not respect her enough. There many more incidents but I can't list them all. Class is maxed out with kids who are not being taken care of and not enough teachers. 320$-350 weekly for this daycare is not worth it, I would gladly pay that to a daycare with teachers who actually love kids and not to a daycare with teachers who work there for the discount they get for their kids. Don't let 25 good google reviews fool you like they fooled me.
