Our eldest is now in elementary school, and we are immensely grateful for the strong foundation he received at Goddard -He was more than prepared and is excelling in all subjects. The teachers and staff at The Goddard School have played a pivotal role in our children's development. Their dedication, patience, and expertise have created a safe and stimulating environment that encourages growth and exploration. It's evident that the staff genuinely care about each child's well-being and development, which has provided us with tremendous peace of mind. Amid the challenges of the COVID-19 shutdown, The Goddard School continued to show their unwavering support. When our son's birthday was right around the corner, and traditional celebrations were impossible, the Goddard teachers stepped up to the plate. They joined in our "drive-by Birthday Parade," bringing balloons, signs, and their smiles to our doorstep. This act of kindness and support during a difficult time exemplified the exceptional bond within The Goddard School community. Both Melissa (Director) and Lauren (Assistant Director) have always made time for any questions that I have had. Each year my son has had friendly, kind and most of all loving teachers. Knowing that the directors and staff all have the children's well being and safety in mind as their top priority makes me (a first time mom) feel more than comfortable and happy dropping my son off every day. The owner, in particular, seems to prioritize money over the best interests of the kids. The lack of professionalism from the owner and the administrative staff is a real issue--many months they wouldn't even have basic things like calendars available, or their communications would be inconsistent. One time they sent out an email about having a "desert bar" ... and had it spelled that way multiple times, so it wasn't just a typo. Is that who you want responsible for educating your child? Aside from all that, our son was diagnosed with some speech and socialization delays during his time at this school and entered Early Intervention. Both of his EI teachers visited his school and told us for his personal needs and learning challenges, the environment at this school wasn't right. Once we found a new school that felt like a better fit, we wanted to move our son right away, but the owner refused to let us leave without requiring dues to cover the full 30 days written notice, despite the fact that the enrollment agreement allows them to waive fees and let a student go if it is in their best interests (and we had a verbal conversation about it over 30 days before we left). For comparison, the school he moved to would have let him attend a few weeks for free just to help us do what was best for him. I wasn't surprised at all to see some other reviews on Greatschools.com that similarly echoed our experience--teachers are mostly good, but the owner/admin staff is not. And with the high level of staff turnover at these type of schools, you are relying on the owner to continually hire good people and hold them to a high standard. I would not trust the owner of this school to actually do that, at all. Basically, I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. If your kid is a follower and fits in to a crowd, they'd probably do fine here, but you can find better. If your kid is at all unique like mine, this school has been generally unsupportive and not helpful, especially compared to his new school where the teachers and administrative staff have really gone out of their way to figure out ways to help keep our son engaged and included (that he has really responded to).

The teacher of the week would forget to give my daughter the full lunch I packed, or routinely misspelled her name on her worksheets, or forgot to take her to the bathroom while she was potty training. One teacher was arrested, and I saw and reported a teacher being verbally and physically abusive toward the children. The response from the admin was blasé. They insisted they would keep an eye on that class, and then reported that they didn't see any signs of abuse. They also lied to me on the phone while I was watching the events unfold live on camera. When I would bring up an issue with the admin team themselves, they would blame the teachers and then tell the teachers I was mad at them, forcing them to apologize. Absolutely toxic. The playground has one play structure with one slide. During the summer, they took away the gymnasium room from the younger kids, so they were stuck in their classroom all day. Why am I paying over 100$ a day for this?

The hours are great for us as a working family and we've seen improvements in our child from both a social and educational perspective. From Day 1, they have communicated honestly, openly, and kindly about anything regarding my daughter. The school is organized, the teachers are happy and genuinely care for the children in their classrooms. For an anxious first-time mom like myself, the app they use to send pictures and updates throughout the day has helped ease my worries while I am working without having to call the center and interrupt my work day. I briefly switched out of Goddard but quickly realized I made a huge mistake and sent her right back. To be fair, I do wish that their classrooms (not class size, but size of the room) were a little larger and that they allow for heat-up lunches more days of the week and had fridges in every room, but I guess no daycare is perfect. In summary, those inconveniences are less important than the overall quality of care/education and open communication I experience at Goddard. I highly recommend Goddard School of Huntingdon Valley. You will receive a high quality education if you send your child there!
