The teachers my two sons have had have all been amazing, unique and passionate and when my children are with them, my mind is at ease. My older son - who has recently rejoined the school for "Summer Camp" with some of his buddies - did the kindergarten program last year as a Farmer with Mr. Juan and he went into his current school so well prepared in both reading and math that he was able to focus on the other huge changes that come with switching schools. I feel so lucky that my children have been able to start their educational journeys at this amazing place. Thank you!

I love Goddard's use of the Tadpoles app where I get daily pictures and updates about sleep and activities like the babies going for a ride outside in the buggy, playing with bubbles, reading circle etc. I couldn't imagine better teachers, there are two for the six infants and there's a shift change midday. They're all extremely capable and work a lot to help develop motor skills (i.e. encourage tummy time, sitting, crawling). They care so much about the babies and clearly love their job. It's such a relief to have a safe and loving place to drop our guy off at everyday! Great care is expensive, but it's worth it for my family. Claim a spot early, we signed up about six months in advance!

Her new hires (teachers/contractors) in my opinion weren't as high quality as the others and we saw/experienced too many incidents that we could not tolerate for our children. We demand respect and a caring and safe environment for our children. It felt like the regional head did the bare minimum for us. I wish people working in this industry had a better moral compass.

The center is beautiful with an art area and an indoor "movement matters" zone, and a natural outdoor play area with a mud kitchen for unstructured play for the older kids. The center provides care from 3 months until they are ready to go off to kindergarten. It is NAEYC certified, and provides lots of enrichment for the kids. It sometimes makes me sad that my daughter spends more time with her teachers than with me (at least, more hours awake) but they fill her day with so many activities that I don't think I would be able to manage at home. Great, responsive, caring staff in a bright, clean, and safe environment. We get pictures every day of what she was doing. I believe this is one of the best daycare centers in the area.

The next day I received a call saying he had no place in the camp and was being placed on the waitlist, but I would know soon whether there was an opening. No one called me for several weeks. The day before camp started, I called them again to ask if he had a space; he still did not, so I asked for a refund. More than another week went by and the full charge was still on my credit card. When I called them again, they said they would be issuing a refund via a mailed check and I could expect it to take another 4-6 weeks. They also slipped a third, additional charge as a "processing fee" onto my credit card. No one has given me a consistent answer or been upfront about why they promoted openings and allowed me to register for a camp that was full, or why they find it acceptable to hold my money for more than 2 months instead of reversing the credit card charge. Some loose research shows the parent company is based out of Hong Kong. Buyer beware on this school.

Ms. Danielle - Science; does interesting and fun experiments with the kids. Ms. Farzi - Works with the kids on cooking, singing, etc. Mr. Dwight - Maintenance and Cleaning; Friendly guy who keeps the place clean. Often have a good chat with him. More people interact with our son, but these are the primary people I have gotten to know. KinderCare has been extra cautious and supportive during the COVID-19 crisis. However, as time has worn on, it seems like the true colors of the school has shown themselves. The owners of the School (in particular Jill) seems to be all about the money. I don't understand how they can justify increasing the costs each & every single year (when they already charge an arm and a leg for tuition across the board) & they say it's due to them losing their talented teachers to the local Public Schools. Jill thinks throwing more & more money at the Teachers will make them want to stay at Goddard. I think the reality is why don't you create a better culture and focus more on the environment for the Teachers to be happy in. They even created a Kindergarten program for the first time this year. Instead of the classroom being located inside of the building, they added a Trailer outside of the building next to the Playground. It seemed as though the class was totally separate from the School itself (literally & figuratively). There were also many times throughout the year when we received conflicting messages/emails between the Goddard School & the Kindergarten classroom on different activities & events. At times, this caused us confusion and many emails/phone calls to the school to determine what was really going on. This is our little one's first year at Goddard (Urbana) and we could not be more please. I thought…read moremoving to a new town and a new school would be a bit overwhelming for her, but with Goddard's help she took it all in stride. They embraced our little granddaughter and the responsibility for her learning care with all the gusto we could hope for in those charged with caring for her for a significant part of her day. Now five, she gets up each day knowing and excited that something new and different awaits her. Learning is everywhere and concern for her well being is front and center. Be it their attentiveness to her numerous allergies or their proactive eye towards seeing that she is in the right level and with the right classmates so that she continues to be challenged, the school is a great fit for our always curious grand baby. An added bonus has been the daily sharing by email of her progress as she navigates a balance of guided work and learning play that the curriculum affords each student. I'm confident she has been well served and will be more than kindergarten ready in the fall, but her time at Goddard will not have ended there. Being just steps away from her new primary school, we will be taking advantage of Goddard's before and after care program giving us the reassurance that she has a safe and nurturing place to get homework out of the way and be with friends until we come to collect her. I felt like Goldilocks, one was just too big, too full of kids and not enough oversite; one was too small, and The Children in the Shoe in Olney... Well that one was just right. Within mins. of starting our tour, my sweet little girl was fast asleep in her carrier. We had found her home away from home. She began in the infant room and has been happy transitioning through her development phases. Now my daughter is in the 3's classroom and I am just as happy with the Shoe as I was during our tour. The teachers have been amazing, transparent, and loving. They communicate, are informative and best of all responsive. The directors to everyone who attends the front desk, each and every one of them are welcoming every single day, how is that humanly possible?! When you step inside, it's a small community. It is very common to find parents, teachers, children, and staff greeting each other, and having short quick conversations. During one of the many conversations that I had with my daughters 2's teachers, they mentioned that her speech was delayed. I loved that the teacher shared her concern and didn't hold it for a more formal parent / teacher conference. Since then, the teachers and staff have been extremely accommodating in welcoming her speech therapist into the classroom on a regular basis. It is home away from home! My little one has had her fair share of bumps and bruises, I know that with every bump, scrape and bruise she gets, she receives twice as many hugs and cuddles. At the end of day, during pick up the teachers make it a point to actually see the parents, talk to the parents and work daily to create a positive connection with the patents. If they are willing to do that after a day of teaching and loving their students - they must be super heroes. I know after a long at work, all I want to do is go home and relax.

I wanted to be a stay at home mom. Until I met Stephanie! she put me at ease from the get go and out with with all of my nerves from day one and with each classroom change until my daughter graduated. She was even there for me when my mother passed away. the shoe is a family that i am happy to be a part of and I hope it continues for years to come. I have two very happy well adjusted kids and their daycare plays a roll in that. Each teacher seems happy to be there and really loves each child and you can see that just by walking around. I wouldn't want my kids anywhere else. We love the shoe!
