My child went to MDD from 9 months to 27 months. There are so many wrong things about this daycare…read more My child was so miserable there. Every morning she was crying not to go daycare because her teachers force her to follow every rule. I feel terrible that I didn't take my child from this daycare early enough. -Till 21 months, my child was in the infant room. 21 month old toddler and 3 month old were in the same room. Their needs are so different from each other. But daycare doesn't care about their development needs. They didn't give fork/spoon during her lunch in infant room. -The classroom my child goes had 4 times flea problem in 2 months. My child got constantly got ticks/fleas in this daycare. My child also got so sick in this daycare. Almost once a month, she was getting a virus from daycare and not going to daycare because of fever. -It is not very clean place. Infant rooms smell like poopy diaper. -Transition from infant room to toddler room was not smooth. My child couldn't adjust to her teachers and had nightmares first months. They could transit slowly. -They don't use technology at all. They decide to close the daycare for half an inch snow and they don't send any email or text to parents. They put some sign in checking desk. Then you have to arrange your work last minute because of bad communication. -There are so many holidays, vacations, closings. You have to take so many day off from you work because of MDD's abundant holidays. -This daycare is very structured. Teacher prepares an art project and children make the same exact art and teacher is so proud of everybody did the same thing. It doesn't encourage creativity, self expression. -If it is music time, children have to sit in circle. If they stand, they are forced to sit. Everything is about following the rules. This is same for every activity. They are forced to do whatever teacher wants like a nun school. If child cries or doesn't want to participate a certain activity, teachers force them. They don't care what child wants. -You have to take your child to daycare at 9 am, if you are late, you might be invited to parent/teacher conference about how their program is structured and missing one activity will destroy the child such as such. -There is always birthday or some reason to eat cake, cupcake, ice cream or other junk food. One week, every other day my child ate sugary things. We don't give sugar to her at home. -The first thing teacher says to my child every morning "what pretty dress/cloth you have". I don't want my child appearance oriented. These praises are so wrong. -Teachers always say to toddlers, "you are big girl/boy, don't do this", "don't do that". It creates too much pressure on toddlers that they have to behave like big girl. They ignore child psychology. -They don't ask any feedback from parents, they don't listen. If you are late 1 minute, the director lectures you 5 min and you have to pay 5 min late fee thanks to her lecturing time. We were so miserable as a family in this daycare. We are so glad we left.

Sometimes Cathy can be opinionated, and very frank when talking with parents. She has been with me. She has strict rules for lunches (no popcorn, grapes must be cut, etc.), but she is always motivated by the best interest of the children. The teachers are all warm, dedicated and knowledgeable. This school is a local institution for a reason- there are very few traditional nursery schools left in the area. In the last few years, Cathy has updated the facility and added more options for the days/times students can attend (lunch, 5 day and full day options)- she has not changed her dedication to preparing our little ones for school through social and play based learning.

Our son loves coming to school every day and we've seen him flourish through the patient and knowledgable care given by his wonderful teachers. Our family feels comfort knowing that Willow House is licensed by the OEC and that Executive Director Susan runs the center like a wheel oiled machine with thoughtful policies and procedures to keep the children safe and sound. As a mom who had only let my mom and mother in law watch her while I was at work it was definitely an adjustment for me but Willow House showed me they care for my daughter just like she is part of their family. My daughter attends the preschool program three full days a week with the before and after care program and the amount she has learned in these past months is incredible. The preschool teacher Jess is amazing and the main reason why we picked this program. The lessons and themes are constantly changing and the children are learning new things everyday. I am amazed to see the progress my daughter has made thus far. When I ask my three year old what she loves about Willow House she tells me the activity centers which are constantly changing based on the theme of the week. I am so thankful to have found Willow House and would highly recommend this center to all my friends.

At this location, the director is very friendly and warm, and the teachers seem to like their jobs. The preschool room always seems calm, and the children are having fun. The facility itself is immaculate-- extremely clean, with attractive children's art on the walls and a pretty fish tank in the lobby. They have impressive attention to detail. As I said, my son has only been here twice. I dropped him off both times, so they had never met my husband. The second time, as I left, I said to the director: "My husband might pick him up this evening, is that okay?" and she responded with my husband's full name, without going to look at our forms. She is clearly on top of her job and wants to make sure everything is done properly. I feel 100% comfortable leaving my son here.

Every time I go to the center the owner is there that makes me feel so good about leaving my child there when the owner is there that shows me that she is serious about her work and she loves what she does and she's proud. They are also so willing to work with parents on their days . I had a family emergency and needed the center to take my child during certain days because as a nurse my days are already scheduled out six weeks in advance and I had no one else to watch my son because I am a single mother they had no problem helping me and my son has just started those are the kind of people you want watching your child the ones who actually care about children they could have said no and sent me on my way but they didn't. The center is clean they are proficient they are kind they help with potty training they have a hair dresser come in once a month to help cut kids hair because hair cuts aren't always the easiest things for two year olds. My son is socializing with other children . They have a full kitchen and a cook who makes the children's food fresh i mean really what more can a parent ask for . I love this center and would recommend it to any family I live about 20 minutes away and I wouldn't change going to this care center for any center that was closer to me. After reading the review below me I was appalled because those are not the ladies that are at the center the ladies I deal with are professional they are kind I hope that this review helps other parents when looking for a center for this child .

Our experience at Precious Memories Preschool of Sandy Hollow was very short lived. Less than 15…read moreminutes if were being honest. We brought our two-year-old son into their facility for his first day. He was very excited to start his first day and ran right to the classroom we were told he was to be assigned to from our previous visit. The owner of the facility told us that we are not welcome back due to him not being compliant. He did not listen to her when we first got to the center (shocker he is a two-year-old that was there for less than 15 minutes and overly excited) and when he fell out of his chair he cried and ran for us because he was scared (crazy how he ran to his parents to console him...). Those two reasons were enough for the owner to justify that we are not welcome back and our two-year-old is just not going to be a good fit. I'm not sure as to what they expect out of a two-year-old, when this is normal and age-appropriate behavior. But apparently our two-year-old was a safety issue as well. Regarding how they allow their doors to the classroom be unlocked for the children to open them without a gate which in my opinion, is a safety issue for the children. However, I warn any parents who are looking at this center to be wary. Even the staff apologized on account of the owner and were unsure as to what happened. Very unhappy and ashamed that I even thought this establishment would be kind to my child.

During services they have 2 childcare rooms; infants and toddlers. After services most people move into the dining hall to grab a delicious pastry or fresh fruit along with something to drink and meet and mingle with every one. They have plenty of activities such as painting, tai chi, trips and fund raisers. I do the weekly Bethel Bible study. It's a small group of a dozen or so and we discuss the Bible in depth. Being new to reading the Bible this program is so helpful. They teach you that the mindset of the people of the times was more philosophical and not literal which helps make sense of many of the Bible verses. I always look forward to Bethel.
