We rented an Airbnb close in Osage Beach near the bridge the end of September and looked for a fishing boat to rent for a day or two that was nearby. Calling and checking on prices, The Getaway was the first that appeared to be interested in working with me and patiently explained they didn't do little (we were a party of five) fishing boats anymore. We ended up getting a new Tritoon that could probably hold a dozen persons, no problem. Secured our fishing licenses and found the rental location where a young man was waiting with a side-by-side, willing to haul our gear down to the dock. Checking in was smooth and easy, instructions were given, and directions and ideas shared on the best areas to fish. Well, the fishing wasn't great, although we changed location a few times, and we hoped to stop at a dockside restaurant, so returned the boat a bit early so we wouldn't go over our allotted time. The Tritoon performed beautifully (hair trigger on the throttle), powerful motors, shade, pockets for storage. They were right--the Triton was very stable, waves no problem. Expected to pay for gas in addition to quoted price but apparently overlooked or forgot about the cleaning fee. The young man hauled our gear back up the hill. Would love to return with a larger party and really have some fun. read more

We rented a boat from here last year and had an AMAZING experience. The boat was basically brand new, worked great! The staff was incredible, so, we returned this year. This year's experience was a bit disappointing. The front desk teen was so so rude. She started talking bad about a different customer in front of me and my fiancé, which is just really unprofessional. The few encounters we had with her (upon pick up and drop off) was just unpleasant. The other staff were great and super helpful. The boat was disappointing. Only 1/6 speakers worked and we had a hard time getting it started a few different times. For over $700 for the day, I guess I was just expecting a boat that was fully functional / working. Wonderful experience, August 2018 This was a wonderful experience renting a pontoon boat from Getaway, Osage Beach, Lake of Ozarks. We had Reserved a 25' pontoon boat for the week we were there. We had a wonderful surprise from the owner Josh when we got there. He upgraded us for the same price of the brand new 2018, 27' pontoon for the same price. He had us take our own pictures around the boat of any damage that was already there and he also took his own video. So there wouldn't be any problems, once we return the boat. His whole staff was friendly and very helpful; they help you bring your stuff down and back up when you returned. That was great, because there are a lot of stairs to get down to the boats from where you park your car. They give you instructions on how to drive the boat what to do what not to do, it was a great experience. Good prices and great customer service! After this experience I wouldn't rent from anybody else. read more

When we walked up everyone greeted us and was helpful. I have rode jet skies before but, the person I was with had never been on a jet ski. The only complaint I had was we did not know that we would be charged for gas. We were told after we came back and it ended up being an extra $30. I rarely do reviews but our experience at "The Getaway" warrants a shout out!!! If you want to rent a jet ski or boat "The Getaway" is the place to go! The owner and crew are great!! The prices are unmatched and even when you have an unexpected "mishap" they are completely professional and do everything they can to make your vacation spectacular. We rented 3 jet skis - although I didn't really plan on driving the jet ski much (our daughter left her driver's license at home) they took the time to go over everything and reassure me I could do it. During our adventure one of the jet ski's capsized (not mine :), luckily my hubby & son flipped it back over fairly quickly (no one was hurt, just some choppy water and too much of a lean). I was afraid this might hinder our trip with some extra costs but the crew towed them in and assessed the jet ski and to my relief there were NO extra charges! Although our jet ski adventure was shortened by the "incident" it was fun while it lasted and the crew was super friendly while we waited for the "damage" report. It wasn't the exact adventure we had anticipated but I'm sure we will be talking about it for years!!! Thank you to the whole crew! We will look you up again if we venture that way in the future!!! Friendly, helpful staff! The boats are nice and this is the most reasonable price you will find from an honest rental. Don't run over any logs or you will be have to pay the damages to your prop if you break the blade! The logs get sneaky in Lake of the Ozarks lol! Have your boat in by close ;) read more

Fantastic boat and jet ski rental. Best friend and I rented a pontoon boat for all-day use (9-5) and a jet ski for a few hours. Owner is knowledgable and professional. Made sure our boat was fueled and ready to go, walked around the boat with us making sure there was no damage, showed us how to operate it, and then we signed some papers and we were off! Never rented a boat before but this company definitely set the bar. The owner is all about his customers and making sure that they are satisfied and takes them seriously. The Gateway, more importantly Josh, was extremely helpful to accommodate our group on late notice. We were left high and dry by the previous captain service we had booked through. Josh worked very hard to find a boat and a captain with less than a 48 hour notice. The pontoon was in great working order and spacious enough for our group of 12. My family rented a deck boat for 4 hours. My husband, who drove the boat, is an experienced driver as he drives many different boats for work. They made a big show of taking a video of the boat for existing damage before we went out. Immediately upon our return the owner came out and accused us of damaging the boat by docking somewhere. He didn't greet us or ask any questions. He said we docked and didn't know what we were doing and damaged the boat. This made my children and I very uncomfortable. When the video was reviewed that part of the boat we were accused of damaging wasn't in the video. The whole experience felt dishonest and planned. I suggest anyone take their own video and check the exterior of the boat for loose or damaged parts before getting on the water. read more

We reserved a pontoon boat for 4 hours, but when we arrived Josh upgraded us to a faster boat because the pontoon boat was being used for something else. No charge. The boat was great. Excellent experience renting jet skis today at The Getaway. We called ahead and 2 jet skis were ready and waiting upon our arrival. Josh was terrific and went out of his way to make sure we were set with everything we might need. The staff was great. I forgot something in my car and they even drove me all the way up the steep hill to my car and back! It's unusual these days to find such great customer service. The prices were the best around and I wondered about the quality of jet skis, but not to worry. The jet skis had more than enough power and what a blast! No hidden fees and no inflated gas prices when we topped the tank off upon return. Definitely the most fun we've had at the lake all summer! We'll be back! read more

Had a great time, service was good Jason got us out quickly and efficiently. We upgraded our pontoon to the speedboat, which looked bada$$! Once we got out on the lake the boat would not go more than 10 mph. Plus, we were pulled over for a safety check and we didn't have the proper life preservers on board or a working horn. We got back and i called him out on these issues. He immediately became defensive, confrontational and accused me of lying about the boats performance. I thought a reasonable consolation would have been to pay the amount we agreed to pay for the pontoon, a 140$ credit. He finally did agree to this. But wanted to test the boat the next day, he did and said the boat went 40mph. I will admit I am a novice boater, maybe he didn't tell me something but, I am not crazy, the boat didn't ride right, bottom line. But, difference in a 5 star and 1 star review is his attitude about it and towards me. Basic customer service J, if your going to make a consolation be happy about it and don't ruin a relationship by pissing off the customer with your attitude. And make sure the boats are in good working order and have the basic safety requirements. it's the beginning of the summer. read more
