Strangely enough I've found the 'efficient' Germans to be less efficient and helpful than Irish civil servants. I'm not sure if that's because they will only accept applications for passports if everything including the new picture is 110% correct or if it is because they will send you home at 11.30 am when they need to close for lunch even though you might have been waiting for 3 hours already. Yup, the Germans are sticklers for rules. Still, there is no way around it, if you live in Dublin but happen to be German you will probably have to come here at least once. On a more positive note, waiting can be quite entertaining because usually you will come across a few characters and the staff are at the very least friendly and know what they're talking about. read more
