This has been my church for several years! A great place to belong, grow and serve! When we say all are welcome, we earnestly mean it.

Matt is a terrific pastor and I have found myself even wanting to listen to his sermons if I miss a Sunday.

I hadn't been to a church in 5 years when I showed up to The Journey. I was afraid that I wouldn't…read morefeel welcome, that the church would be "cliquey," and that I would be offended by the message. Immediately after sitting down, I realized that I was in the right place. I felt so touched and inspired, and encouraged to explore my spirituality and connection to God beyond the confines of a Sunday morning. As Christian churches go, they have their religious tenants that tend to put them in the "conservative" camp, but as far as churches go, I do believe that this one is fairly progressive and accepting. Things to expect: messages concretely tied into real life, excellently performed contemporary music - some of it original, overhead presentation of what's occurring on the main stage so everyone can see, occasional use of videotaped messages when the pastor is traveling, coffee before the service and donuts after, and kind people all around.

I can't say enough about Pastor Darrin Patrick... I'm your typical "raised in the church" girl and…read moreI've grown so much and met some of the best friends I've ever made here. Darrin's not afraid to give it to you straight, though - so just know that going into it. I'm not saying he's all hellfire and damnation, he's just honest - Christians are spending more time and money shopping for and buying "Christian merchandise" than they are building up their communities and making the world a better place. We've side-stepped our responsibilities and turned our faith into a self-help practice. If you are ready to be challenged, or you're looking for a church that welcomes questions and investigation about what Christianity really is, was and should be... I dare you to come. 9am and 11:15 Sunday services at Tower Grove. They have other campuses too - www.journeyon.net. You can also check out Darrin's latest sermon at the website.

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE…read more The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis was my favorite part of my STL trip. The colorful mosaics and the architecture was truly mind blowing. It was so impressive how each mosaic piece worked together to tell stories. Each section/room of the Cathedral Basilica were all unique in their own way, but all mind-blowing. Surprisingly, it was not busy at all when I visited! (a little bit before mass) I think most of the people who were here during my visit were regulars; they didn't look wowed and shocked, lol. This is such a lovely place.. I can't believe it isn't like flooding with visitors! I was greeted by nice priests. They gave us a warm welcome and made us feel uncomfortable. One priest, he asked us if it was our first time visiting, and talked about the history of the Cathedral Basilica; the first mosaic stone was placed on 1812 and the lsat stone was places 188-something. When you're visiting, also check out the mosaic museum in the basement, as it was also a crucial part of this visit! I learned a lot of history in the mosaic museum and viewed really cool things, like a 14th century choir book! Like who knew they were that big! Also, I heard online that the Cathedral Basilica of STL features one of the largest mosaic collections in the world! This was a jaw-dropping experience, and I would love to be back here again.

Everyone was very kind and helpful, priests and security alike. It smelled incredible. I would buy the incense they burn here by the crate. By far my favorite place we visited while in St. Louis.
