He told us about the artists, pointed out pieces he thought we would like, and was a pleasure to be around. There are prominent signs out front saying no food, drink, or cellphone use inside. I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised when asked to leave when ignoring those rules. It's pretty standard for most galleries. I will definitely be back when looking to redecorate. There was two people working even though it was closed and I asked them what is this place? They said it was a beer garden that also grows produce and has an art gallery. The beer is by Chuck Alex which I never heard of but the space is a nice size. With several communal tables and it's pet friendly which is so San Diego. So you can have beer and bring your own food or order from Tostada. Okay so on to the art gallery it's a little small but the art packs a punch. They have some tote bags hanging from the ceiling made of dollar bills. On the wall they have items from different businesses from Seven Eleven to Sushi bars and other local businesses. At first I didn't realize what the art was until I read the story beneath the art. This is a very cool spot in North Park and I was in the area on a Saturday night and this place was busy. So it's probably a good stop for date night.

Five minutes later, another couple walked in (older, dressed for an occasion), and she was at their throats for their wallets. Apparel isn't our primary form of expression, but I am admittedly a sucker for Murakami pieces. She would have known this had she gotten over her own self biases and held a conversation with us. The experience was distasteful because of this, and led me to having no interest in purchasing a piece from this gallery. The pieces were reasonably priced, and the selection was impressive. Solid selection of Murakami as of writing this. If you want to be treated as a customer, wear something that "looks" expensive. If you just want to look at the pieces, dress casually. The pieces that she had on display this time were mostly of women underwater, rendered in captivating, flowing detail with an excellent eye for color contrast and ability to play with light in the oil medium. There were several other artists' work on display as well, even a few children's pieces, which added a lively feeling to the space. Irina is very personable and took the time to answer questions, explain to me and my artist guest the details of her creative process, and even generously providing him with some helpful tips on taking his craft to the next level. Can't wait for the Sensuality show in December, another great opportunity to support local artists and enjoy a sumptuous visual experience.

Looking through the canvas, I am transported to a happy place of pure bliss! As a Yelp Reviewer the times that I have gone to the Exclusive Collections it's a wonderful thing to see the many great art pieces and the sculpture's they have on display and to sit in some of the showing rooms to see what the many colors of art look like. I attended the Uplifting Vibrations show at the gallery this past weekend and I got the chance to…read morenot only appreciate all of the art on the walls but actually talk with Grant Pecoff and his wife Layne Pecoff. I will start with the art. They had a few artists displayed but mostly had the work of Grant Pecoff (given that it is his gallery). They also had some very moving pieces from Stephanie Clair, the expression that she created with her cubism style and simplistic faces was very apparent and warm. Then I noticed Grant work and immediately recognized it. One of my friends has a piece of his I have always loved, it is of about 10 narrow homes above a reflective river in Amsterdam, the colors used and the reflection created are so unique and awesome. I love his art and hope to one day own a few of his pieces as they would compliment any room. He also has many San Diego paintings, including one of the Coronado bridge...which elicits a very interesting story of how he met his wife Layne. She had seen this painting for the first time a week before her parents came into town. When she was showing them around Del Mar she remembered it and brought them over to the window to check it out as she went on and on about how much she loved it. A guy was also looking at it from outside of the window and let her know there was a marching band on the side of the beach that day, that man was Grant Pecoff and only 5 weeks after that moment, they went on a trip to Europe together and had gotten married. Layne is full of happiness and it radiates to you when talking with her. She provides such a warm and comfortable aura and will leave you in positive thought after conversing with her. She writes the children's books with Grant's art next to the words, I have read through some of them and would recommend to any parent who hopes for an active imagination for their young one. The art and words dance and mingle in a lively fashion that stirs even an adult mind. If you are in the Little Italy area and you are look for an uplifting gift for your eyes and mind, please oh please, come on in and surround yourself with beauty.
