the mural is on the 14th St. side of a recycling business. the mural itself is quite wide. just posting the center portion as it's the most interesting part.
the centerpiece shows a black family dressed all in white seated together. Jazz Hudson (poet & butter creator) holds Selah (son) in her arms. Olafemi Akintunde (educator, artist) is wearing futurist sun visors. the rest of the mural has geometric patterns in shades of orange, black, blue, grey, red, white, etc.
this neighborhood was primarily African American until gentrification started. predatory lending by the banks decimated this community. almost all factories/warehouses in the area has closed.
this mural has been vandalized many times, and repainted.
