Along Cathedral Road, it's not unusual to find a dozen dentists, orthodontists and 'aesthetic' doctors. A little bit further on up and you'll find wine merchants, salons and violin shops. So quite a rich little sector, one might think.
A then you notice, snuggled among all the nice trees, parks, pubs and architecture, a few little odds and ends. A pharmacy that's seen better days. A dowdy Chinese takeaway. And then you have this little green grocers.
I'm a fan of the local produce and small shops; I always like to help support those businesses around me rather than head down to the supermarket all the time. This is quite a good shop, selling most the in season fruit, vegetable and herbs that you could want. It can be a bit frustrating sometimes, however, as they can run out of the more popular items during the middle of the day.
The shop can get a bit crowded and untidy, but then, you're meant to wash your veg before you eat it any way, aren't you? read more
