To Whom It May Concern:…read more This is a forewarning if you are looking to replace and/or repair a roof, fencing, gutters, or any contracting job in the McLennan County area. We hired JAC Roofing and Exteriors in Hewitt to replace our roof that was damaged by hail. They came recommended by my insurance company representative. We have several reasons as to why we would never allow them to enter onto our property again, nor would we recommend them to our worst enemy. The last item we requested they fix is the disconnected vent to our gas water heater that was left disconnected along with ceiling damage by them. We contacted JAC and sent photos notifying them of the damaged ceiling and disconnected vent - no response from JAC which is what we've learned to expect from them. We don't want to write a book but the many lies they told were so compounded it was ridiculous and would take far too long to list them all. If they won't give you an itemized bid up front, run! All work is done utilizing outside contractors with little or no supervision by JAC, they only act in the capacity of middlemen, they do nothing hands on. (I believed I was hiring a roofer, not someone who would hire a different roofer of their choosing and at my expense) I would very strongly suggest that if you are considering hiring this crew who use Colorado, not Texas paperwork, please contact the following agencies for your personal safety: Texas State Insurance Commissioner's Complaints, The Roofing Licensing Enforcement Center, (they are not licensed), the RCAT - Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (they are not a member), the Hewitt Chamber of Commerce, Waco Chamber of Commerce, BBB and Yelp. There are several other and I'm sure more reputable roofing companies out there. I would highly recommend you do your homework, contact all available agencies, and ask for local recommendations prior to hiring any one of them. They should have sent someone out to the repair the condition in which they left our home - we had to take care of it ourselves, on top of all other headaches they provided us.
