It is a quaint smaller bed-and-breakfast however the owners, and those that sit around the table in the morning are an incredible blessing and addition to your visit. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere calming. There's a beautiful large porch where you can sit outside and drink your coffee or wine and you can take wonderful walks or runs around the Franklin Square with wonderful coffee houses and even a local bookstore. The staff's high level of competence, empathy and kindness was consistent across all departments. I witnessed unruly customers being managed with understanding and caring words. Many people were at the hotel because they had been displaced from their homes by the winter storm, so not everyone was in a good mood (myself included). The staff had their own worries, but yet didn't let that interfere with jobs ... they worked additional shifts, some back to back, and always maintained a great customer service attitude. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very nice. I stayed in a room on the 8th floor near the Executive Lounge (815 perhaps?). The executive lounge was very nice and offered a good selection of hot and cold breakfast food in the morning. It also had a really nice, large patio with a great view. The room was very spacious, clean, and modern, however the air flow in the room wasn't the best, which I think caused the room to have a stale/mildew oder. I smelled it constantly while in the room, even while I tried to sleep and as soon as I woke up in the morning. I should have asked to be moved to a different room, but I opted not to, thinking that every other room in the hotel might smell that way. I asked 2 colleagues also staying there for a work trip we were all on, if they also had the smell in their rooms and they both said no. I think it was just my room, and also maybe tied to the A/C fan not being at full blast when I tried to adjust it. Still, this was a very nice, updated, and clean hotel and I would stay here again, just not in room 815.

The walls in several areas of the room were covered in stains and splatters. When we went to the living room area, the couch was covered in stains and the kitchen silverware was dirty. The fridge was also not properly cleaned either. The bathroom was filthy. The shower covered in mold. The drains in the tub would not stay up while you showered. Only one of the lights in the bathroom worked. The mirror light did not work either. There were spider webs in the bathroom light covers. The cabinetry in the bathroom was severely worn and peeling. We also were hoping to use the dresser in the bedroom to store our clothes, but all the drawers were broken and could not be opened properly. To top it all off, around gam, the morning we were to check out of the hotel, a housekeeping lady came into our room unannounced. She did not knock, she literally unlocked our door from the outside and walked in. She did not even apologize. We truly love Hilton hotels, but this one was just flat out awful. I also have plenty of other pictures to show how bad it really was. It seems as though this hotel used to be good, looking at previous reviews, but has since gone downhill. For $200 a night you'd think it would at least be clean. I highly recommend looking elsewhere to stay. We have stayed at many Hiltons in the past, but will now reconsider and look at other options.

There's even a fantastic snack counter off to the left of the front desk! The bar opens at 4:00pm and Jeff The Bartender makes one of the best Whiskey Sours I ever had. The room itself is big, with a sitting area and even a walk-in closet that can almost be its own room! The bathroom is spacious and thoughtfully laid out. The bed was soft ... but not TOO soft ... which is a good thing. Excellent staff here, and a most welcome introduction to the famous Southern Hospitality I've heard so much about. Location is okay- there are a few restaurants within walking distance but it seemed there are more happening areas a short drive away. Breakfast was pretty good for free hotel food (shout out to the friendly breakfast lady)! All in all, it's not a bad place to crash for a night or two. I'd probably try somewhere else next time that felt newer and nicer but wouldn't be against staying here. One draw back during my stay was that there was a youth hockey team(s) staying here. For some reason their parents thought it was acceptable for the kids to setup nets and play hockey in the hallways in the evening. Bad parenting but can't really fault the hotel for that.
