She asked about the occasion the flowers were for and who it was for and made some great suggestions. The flowers and plants are different, with unique arrangements that included such choices as Kangaroo Paws and Figs. Even the roses had a mixture of colours that you normally don't come across. There's also branches, larger plants and quirky vases for sale as well. The shop itself invites you in with lots of sunlight coming through and has a rustic feel to it. I really liked the 'Florid' logo (I have a thing for typography) as it accentuates the fresh approach that the store has. If you're around the area, it's worth getting a little bunch to brighten up the house, or someone's day.

It is, but it's much more than that too. The creations that I saw walking out of here whilst sitting in the cafe next door were spectacular - the kind you'd see in a foyer of a large corporate bank. They have a bit more earthiness to them - using things like large bark spirals and palm leaves. There are lots of beautiful florists in North Sydney. But this one is a bit different. They also sell some gorgeous and original homewares - like the match box with a antique style drawing of butterfly and leaf print or the wall art decorations. I hear this is the place where florists in Sydney come to get their wholesale stash, so the pros arrive at the crack of dawn to stock up. If you are a regular person like myself, there's no need to come so early. I took the train in from the city at about 9am on a Saturday? You have to walk about 10 minutes from the station but there are signs everywhere. Arrived a bit past 9:30 and there were still plenty flowers left. It was even better, because this was when the sellers wanted to go home so they really lower the price. It was down to $10 for 10 bunches of roses. There were mums, lilies, peonies (a bit pricier than roses but not by much). I was in flower heaven. Can't wait to come back on another Saturday to have another go at bouquet making.
