CarpetRight, part of the chain, based in the Purley Way Shopping area…read more We came here to find a lino and were pleased to see that they had a wide selection of different colours and patterns with a wide range of pricing also. Staff did come and see if we were ok every now and then which was good. We placed our order, the lady assisting us was very helpful and friendly. We scheduled to have the lino picked up by us but laid professionally so, of course, booked the relevant date and time to do this. It wasn't clear where to pick the lino up from so I went to the shop who then directed me to where I needed to pick it up which, was a short drive away. The loaded the lino (little did I know then that they had forgotten to provide the floor glue) and off I went to duly wait for our fitting date. Fitting date arrived and I sat and waited, and waited, and waited. Having spent the day waiting, I phoned to find out what was happening. They said they would chase the driver. Eventually I was able to speak to the driver who said that, if it was OK, he would be there a little late. Humm. Not ideal but at least I'd get the lino done having dragged items out of the kitchen that day so the floor was clear. So, I waited and waited some more. Eventually, another call with the driver he advised that he would not make it that day and would need to arrange another date. Well, disappointing to say the least, a waste of a day and the effort of clearing my kitchen.

Carpet right?.... Carpet wrong more like!! We purchased…read morebedroom carpet and a bed from them with lovely service from Daniel. ( We spent over £1000!) He booked in our delivery for a month later on a Saturday when one of us were available at home. We waited until about 2pm on fitting day before we called to find out what time we should be expecting them. That was when we found out there had been some error and our carpet wouldn't arrive on that day after all. Nobody had bothered to notify us, we had taken a day off of work to be there! They said they would waive the £41 fitting fee for our inconvenience. The next available fitting date was made for the following Wednesday (the day our bed was meant to be delivered). We were assured that they would take care of making sure the carpet came before the bed and be accountable for their prior mistake, did this happen??? Of course not. I get an email to expect delivery of the bed between 6.45-9am on Wednesday morning. I called carpet right to advise them they needed to reschedule the bed later but even talking to a manager no one would help me. I was given a number for the delivery company to try and reschedule the bed delivery myself but was told it was unlikely they could change it. I tried but to no avail and our bed arrived this morning around 8.30am (glad I set my alarm for 6.30!). They had to take the bed to the spare bedroom and leave it there in boxes until the carpet fitters had done the carpet later on. At least the fitters helped to move the bed boxes into the correct bedroom afterwards. No time to let the carpet settle then?!? Now my fiancé is at home making up the bed (even though making up the bed is a part of the delivery cost we have already paid for) and we will have to visit the tip with all of the boxes. More petrol, more time and more inconvenience! Also... We were made to pay for the waived fitting fee which has since been reimbursed. To add a final nail to the coffin... We asked daniel for extra material to be put on the base of the divan (something I was assured would be done when it was made) and the headboard has been made with the incorrect material and we will now have to wait until another one is made in the matching fabric. All in all.. A pretty horrendous experience. I have an entire house to carpet. Shame that this company has failed on just about every instance and won't be carpeting it. Give this company a wide berth... Not worth the hassle.
