I'd never done any kind of pole fitness before, and of course, assumed it was all rather risqué, and not so much about athletics. Boy, was I wrong! The studio is located in a totally bizarre location (the Clyde business park, just off Carling and Maitland) but it's great for parking and is pretty central. I didn't expect much from the outside, but they've done an excellent job of transforming this studio into a fun place to work out. We were greeted by our instructor Lyne, who showed us the change rooms and our studio, The Pink Room. It had about 8 poles, and was painted a bubblegum pink. They also have a second smaller studio called The Blue Room, which they use of smaller classes. In both rooms they have a wall of feather boas and hats, which was super cute, and set the tone for a fun workout! For our hour lesson we learnt two chair dance routines - one a bit more seductive and sultry, the other one with more sass and fun. They were both really fun and Lyne was encouraging and supportive the whole time, ensuring we were having a great time. She took the time to snap photos and video for us as well, which was super sweet. Of course, we didn't get into the super crazy fitness side of it since we were there for a fun time, but our instructor, Lynne, was in insane shape, and he showed us some of the advanced moves and what they work on, and told us she completely owes her physique to pole fitness. I can see how this could be an amazing body sculpting workout, and I'm absolutely interested in signing up for one of their classes at some point. They have all sorts of different genres including regular pole (with increasing levels of difficulty), spin pole, gymnasti-pole, bootcamp, contemporary, PiYo, and of course, sexy pole! The class consisted of a perfect combination of stretching, body weight exercises, holding positions, and aligning your body. It can make your body more flexible as well as strength and tone your body. Whether you are a beginner to fitness or an elite athlete, the exercises are as challenging as you make it. And there is music playing for the majority of the class. Upbeat and feel good music! Sarah was the instructor and she was friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable. She talked through each exercise and demonstrated it perfectly. She motivated the class and helped each student when they needed it. She eats, breathes, and sleeps the Daily Method and you can see her passionate right away when you first meet her. Honestly, as a guy I didn't think it would be a work out or that it wouldn't be for me but I was completely wrong. The class was a great work out and the environment ultra supportive and warm. I would highly recommend checking them out.

They have combination locks (you set the combination yourself!) so you don't have to bring a lock (phew!). As I was walking into class I was told to grab 2lbs weights. My first thought was "I can totally carry more than two lbs". Hahaha boy was I wrong! If this is your first class do not roll your eyes at the 2lbs suggestion! The class was energetic and focused on small movements. You would think that it wouldn't do much but it really targets your muscles! Sarah, the co-owner of the studio, is amazing. She's helpful and energetic and she really pushes you through when you think you can't do that last set. The workout was amazing. The studio is beautiful, clean and a great friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a challenging workout.

It has quite the reputation for having the most graceful and amazing ballet dancers. I took ballet lessons here, and had the pleasure of meeting and being taught by Greta Leeming herself. Their ballet is very classical and I remember it being very strict in terms of proper posture, form, and grace. Our classes would be a combination of stretching, learning different techniques, and practicing our group dances for our on-stage performances. You would think such classical ballet would be very serious, but all of us had a lot of fun while doing it, and it wasn't like it was a chore. I really enjoyed taking ballet here, and I wish that I could have continued on with it, as many of my friends at other dance studios speak so highly of Greta Leeming.

Then,they decided to not respond to my emails to refund me for my child classes, which we decided after the first class(second year) it wasn't the right level. We where being forced to only take the classes they wanted, didn't matter it was recreational, or the same classes where being offered on different days. I was being ignored and refuse to ever recommend this school for children or youth.

They take risks with their choices like an amateur theatre, but usually produce quality work like a professional theatre. Their old location relied solely on a cozy theatre with terrible seats, but they have recently moved to new digs in Westboro. The new theatre features a large theatre, small theatre, art gallery, cafe, bar, apartments and a lobby available for functions. Although it's not as nearly as small as it used to be, the new large theatre still maintains a close space with the audience and play. Prices are $32 for matinées, $42 for evening shows and $30 for students. However, at the first Sunday of each performance, admission price is pay what you can. So get out to the GCTC on Oct. 26th to take advantage of this deal for their new show "Zadie's Shoes."
