There is a small room at the back where you can put on different types of classes on the tv screen(such as pilates, yoga, zumba, cycling etc) and just work away at your own pace, however the room only has a fan and on a hot day, the room feels like a sauna. Price of membership is $13/wk and if you direct debit from your credit card, it's $15/wk. Is it the best gym I've been to? No not really. Will this gym work for me? I think so. Will it work for others? Depends on what they want out of the gym.

Ad demanded I get out post haste. Also that my daughter wasn't welcome in spa either. I guess there's a price point between pool water and spa water. Glad to know the lifeguards here are so well qualified to... try and get more $ from you. Would most definitely not return.

Caution to new members: My car keys stolen twice. Other members valuables over the last few months…read morehave also been taken. The facilities and front of house staff are pretty good. Although not a lot of atmosphere in the main gym area its OK for a basic trainer. Just a warning to patrons though - My car keys were stolen from the pigeon hole area never to be returned and then one month later my new set were taken once again. With ample security cameras and sign in sign out scanning of all members, it was disappointing that Larisa the gym managers gave little assistance to myself or the police advising that the footage had been erased on the first theft. On the second occurrence I was simply advised by a short email that ' the matter was closed' and no proper review of footage or even a quick email to the 20 or so members who had come in and out in the short time period the keys had gone missing occurred to query. I understand the apparent responsibility is with myself leaving property (along with everyone else's) in the common communal pigeon hole area but some assistance to a long time member would have been appreciated. Myself and several friends have had to leave the gym fearing the day my car will be simply unlocked and taken whilst we train.

I work full time do it's great that there are classes that I can go to after work. Haven't yet though. This gym has a sauna and spa and access to a pool across the way. The music is good the surrounds are fresh and clean it's also quite easy to get to with lots of parking. This is my third gym in the area over about 10 years and it's also my favourite. It's also a few dollars a wk cheaper than my last gym which was in Carnegie. That's not why I changed. It was the lack of evening classes, the huge class sizes and primarily that the other gym was on the wrong side of the railway line.

And, being a tourist, it's nice to walk the whole length (and many levels), as a purveyor of culture =) The cinema here would be a lot of fun to patronize... I enjoyed seeing the food offerings outside of the court.. Man alive...food ain't cheap in this country! shocking, although i've been warned many times. The clothing boutiques were pricey, and the styles were not commensurate to their tags. My nephew gloats over the EB Games store for his many systems of squandered, wasted hours of life with eyeballs glued to a telly. I fancied a nice cafe for a large strong, flat white after the miles of walking. Too, the meat pies at some of the more gourmet end shoppes (the ones near the butcher shoppe and the Italian gourmet store!!) caused me to salivate. Think this place spans a block...easily. Simple and straightforward.. think somewhere in nondescript middle of Kmart-land and Nordies/Sak's world.

It is a massive shopping centre, spanning two sections on either side of the road and a walkway over the highway. The walkway and section on the west section of the road was added about 15 years ago so that part is a bit nicer than the "old" section. Wiki tells me there's over 400 shops in Southland and it has a pretty good range for whatever you're looking for. But I would recommend knowing why you're going there because there's nothing worse than realising you need to go to David Jones when you're on the Kmart side. Probably the best section is the walkway as that's where there's the more upmarket clothing brands like Country Road, Witchery etc as well as Mimco and Kikki K. I'm not really a fan of the eating options at Southland - there's a food court and more restaurant-type options near the cinema. There's lots of parking for a shopping centre this size and you probably won't have too much problem getting a spot - undercover parking is the most sought-after in the summer. And it's free parking, so that's good. All up, Southland is ok - definitely wasn't the highlight of my holiday, more of a needs-must place to visit but for the selection of shops, I can't really complain. Note: we had trouble finding a centre directory and had to ask at the assistance counters. I think they have a few touch screens around the place with maps on them.
