I recently made a small order from The Fabulous gift store before leaving the UK. The items arrived quickly and well packaged, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not checking my order before returning home to New Zealand.
The store had unfortunately sent me a similar - but ultimately wrong - item to the one I had ordered.
Because of my new location it was not financially viable to return it. They did offer to pay the postage return costs they would have paid if I had still been in the UK, but even then, the postage would have cost more than the amount of the item.
I should have taken the time to check through my parcel and make sure that everything was present and correct, and I acknowledge that, however this whole mess could have been easily avoided if they had just sent the correct item. Many people use online gift stores to send presents to relatives who live far away, and expecting them to go through the rigmarole of returning an item that was sent wrongly isn't really fair.
Also, I tried to contact them several times about this issue using the "Contact us" form on their website, and I received no response until I used the email address they also provided. I am not entirely sure that the contact form works properly, as they also did not respond to my stock enquiry. read more
