I was just browsing as I was looking at guitars a year or so back. A mate had mentioned he'd seen some very nice acoustic guitars in the shop, and I thought I'd have a quick look. While I wasn't really interested in what they had as far as instruments are concerned (and yes, there were a good number, but not what I wanted), I did spot a couple of items that I thought I might as well pick up. Now, considering that it's a pawn shop, a lot of the stuff in there is kinda on the expensive side. I'd rather have a look in the Trading Post, to be honest. I did manage to find a decent car jack, though, and it was cheap, so I bought it. The service was alright. Typical Knox retail standard. No complaints. Just that it's expensive for a shop that sells second hand stuff.

This venue is great for functions. They have a lecture theatre upstairs, full kitchen and function…read moreroom downstairs. We held about 100 people both up and downstairs comfortably. The venue is very economical and they can help you organise a caterer if need be or you can choose your own. The only downside is that you will need to bring your own AV equipment or source if from somewhere. Sure the decor particularly upstairs looks like it's out of the 70s but if functionality and comfort are more important than looks then this isn't an issue. The layout is great with a little nook near the front door where you can set up a table for registrations and greeting guests. I really liked this venue as it is central and provides low cost options for not for profit organisations. The staff were also great and let us hang around longer than planned as our event was going quite strongly despite them having to wait to lock up the venue.

The prices are standard for a shop of this type although they do tend to choose a few different perfumes to mark down each day. These are often popular fragrances so you can nab a bargain here. The shop itself is more a cubic glass shelf with a customer service assistant inside the cube. Perfumes line the shelves and the shelves are very crowded. If you are after something specific I would recommend asking the service girl for help rather than painstakingly crouch low to the floor to cover the bottom shelves. I find the location of the store quite irritating. Trying to have a look at what is on the shelves is difficult when a mother with a pram and three kids under five pass by and the pram rolls over your foot. The walkway in the centre is also very noisy and it is hard to concentrate.

The stock inside Gray's is always worth checking out as it is always changing, new pieces coming in and being sold. You can expect to find antique couches, dining tables, chairs, English china, wardrobes, in fact, any item that has been made for the home during the 19th and 20th century. They also have a collection of second hand books, records and posters I often find myself perusing around this quaint little store o a Sunday afternoon in between sipping a coffee and heading over to the market. Grays state that in most cases 95% of their products will sell, if you are looking to sell some items Gray's will discuss a price with you and will then display the items for a 30 - 60 day period.

On any given day you're likely to find anything from a vintage Louis Vuitton bag to, wooden wine crates, to brand new Laguiole cutlery at a fraction of the price! The owner is chatty and helpful, and more than happy to take your details in case that rare thing you're searching for walks through the door.

In any case, Bright Self Storage ticks all the customer service needs I can think of. Patrons can access their stuff from 7am to 7pm every single day and office hours are listed above. I have some stuff in a 6x3 storage unit that has a roller door and an alarm. All the units have this and there is outdoor storage for things like caravans as well. The outdoor items are all under constant video surveillance. The units are really clean and seem quite new. I am confident that my things won't get damaged or wet from leaks as the building is very strong and secure. The staff here are always nice and friendly when I drop by and it's always a nice experience - that is, until I see all my stuff that I am yet to find room for!

It's clear from your first step inside that a lot of love has gone into the décor and furnishings, making Eastern Bloc my preferred Studio to use when recording. From the vintage guitars on the walls, to the relaxing lounge area and clean little kitchen, everything has been thought of to create a space you can use to lay down tracks or mix your next project. The rooms themselves are fantastic, with the central control room and its giant mixing desk looking out onto the wood paneled room used for drums, guitars or vocal tracks. There are another 4 rooms to use, plus a fantastic range of amps and guitars you can try on your own tracks. Eastern Bloc Studios boasts an impressive client list, and as it's still quite new, can only get better from here.

My friends came to ask about dessert recommendations and the staff were happy to oblige. Whether you're asking about famous landmarks or something a bit more subtle, this spot at Federation Square will have the answers you seek, delivered with a smile.
