The library has a huge selection of books, for adults and for kids, as well as CDs and some DVDs. I always find what I need for my kids for their school research. And my kids enjoy the cozy ambiance of the reading area. The young librarian Alexandra helps you with great smile and it makes the trip to the library really super.

go through the door closest to the corner of Hotelgasse, take an immediate left and go through the…read morelittle exhibit area. and make sure to take a look at what is there as you pass by. you will get to a little room with a few tables and some coffee and snack machines. the most brilliant part of this room? the free newspapers! they have all the swiss newspapers, and also french, german, and italian papers, the international herald tribune, the new york times - all there for you to peruse at your leisure. back issues are stacked on a shelf and that day's papers are hanging up on poles. the coffee from the machine is pretty good too. and it is warm in there. a great place to sit and read the paper and even mingle with bern university students and professors if you are so inclined! beautiful.
