If you want an oldskool feel pub then the Emmbrook Inn will float your boat.
It's not a large pub, its a smally, this isn't a bad thing it's got a good cosy feel to it.
They had, 'had' 4 ales on tap, I have to say 'had' because three of them had run out. Which is a shame, 14.00 on a Saturday afternoon seems a bad time to be running out of beer but luckily the 4th was still on though just Green King IPA so a standard affair (again a shame as a couple of the others that had run out I hadn't had before)
I could well imagine spending an evening in the Emmbrook serenely supping some ales with friends, it has got a welcoming feel to it, the owners and regulars are friendly enough and you find yourself getting caught up in conversation.
The location seems a plus on an active (wouldn't say busy) road, in the middle of some estates.
Next time I'm down visiting the family I will have to pay another visit to see what ales they have on. read more
