One star for view, as stated on previously it is phenomenal. The other is for everything else. The area is well worth the visit. The restaurant if everything else is closed in the area go to Woolworths, grab something to eat and find somewhere to sit and enjoy the view. Ordered the food and drinks easily enough. The drinks were brought to the table and two of them promptly but accidentally spilt down my back. The waiter was very apologetic and promptly gave me two towels and offered complimentary drinks or a meal. We asked for both as two drinks had been spilt and I was unable to change my top or skirt which was now see through. The manager then came over and told me that 'accidents happen and it did not warrant a free meal, but coffee was a reasonable request'. So now I am irritated and wet so the food really needed to impress me. I had ordered the shrimp salad. Presentation was lovely, taste unfortunately bland and as it was served in a bucket not very practical. My husband had a chicken schnitzel which was over seasoned. The lamb gnocchi was more lamb than gnocchi. The steak sandwich was 'not my favourite sandwich ever'. I later spoke to the manager to tell her that what upset me more than anything was her telling me 'accidents happen'. She immediately went on the defensive and told me I should not speak like that to someone in the hospitality industry. Conclusion my value as a customer was worth $2.10 (business cost). Beautiful cafe, might be on the touristy side but you truly can't beat the views. I came for breakfast, which is somewhat fast casual service where you order at the bar area, get a number, seat yourself, and a server will bring the meal to your table. I ordered the Organic Acai Berry Sorbet, which is visually very colorful and appealing. Although I loved the flavor combinations of the crunchy granola, seasonal fruit, and berry sorbet, I found the texture of the sorbet slightly too icy for the dish. I found myself trying to make the sorbet melt faster so that I could enjoy a smoother bite, but I also know the dish is named "sorbet" and not "smoothie bowl" for a reason. Regardless, I did enjoy the dish as a whole and my boyfriend loved his Toasted Muesli. As lunch time approached, I noticed that servers were marking all the tables on the balcony as "reserved". As one of the only restaurants in this country that seems to have table service, the food and view were phenomenal, but there were a few service missteps which are making me knock a star off this review. We came here on a Sunday afternoon around 130pm. First, the carafe (wine bottle) of water for the table wasn't swapped for a filled one when we emptied our first, we had to ask for more water. Lastly, once we finished our meals the servers basically disappeared on us. We flagged one down to ask for a dessert menu and one was promptly brought out to us (and yes, we did visit the dessert case while we waited), but then no server ever came by to take our dessert order, we had to go to the counter to order it. Putting those aside, my friends and I shared the dip duo appetizer bread. It's served with a pesto and a beetroot hummus, with bread that's hot and has a drizzle of olive oil in it. The viking fillet I had cooked to medium rare was tender, juicy and delicious, and the jus it was served with was the perfect compliment for it. My friend got the beef short rib lunch special and he loved it. I had the macadamia nut cake, heated with a side of ice cream, and it was positively delicous as it was not overbearingly sweet. The views from the rear balcony are simply breathtaking, and the little area this restaurant is in is filled with cute shops and art galleries, so it's a great place to take a little walk after your meal.
