    Uluwatu burger
    John B.

A prominent restaurant with substantial seating just across the street from the main beach, this is an easy option for the vacationer. Their menu, while unsurprisingly on the pricey side, offers a variety of vegetarian options. Their Uluwatu burger had a sweet and savory filling characteristic of Southeast Asian cuisine, and the accompanying fries had a delicious light batter. As with many of Noosa's restaurants, I probably wouldn't pay to eat there if it wasn't in Noosa, but if you're there, this is likely to be a viable option.

Such a lovely cafe to sit, relax and watch the world go by. It's situated on the main street in Noosa so not far from shops and accommodation. We were taken to our table and given the day menu. I was curious as to the dinner menu so asked and it wasn't a problem to have a look at it. Upon our request we were given a bottle of water and two glasses. This helped wash down the coffees which were of good strength. Sharing a caramel slice wasn't an issue and we were given two forks to indulge. It was beautifully presented and tasted great too. The biscuit base was scrummy and tasted of oats and nuts. I'll be sure to come back here again.

The day's tacos. Grilled corn and capsicum (veggie option) and a beef option. $6 each

Decent food. Comfortable atmosphere. I was most surprised at the attempt at Mexican food at a restaurant with a French name. Pretty poor attempt at nachos and tacos. Good flavours but truly inauthentic. Whatever tickles your fancy.

Had an awesome breakfast here, the serves were gigantic and the service was super friendly, the young man that served us was so enthusiastic he had us all smiling and laughing! We went on a Monday so didn't have to battle the weekend crowds, would suggest making a booking for weekends though. Great value for money and the best breakfast that we had in Noosa.

Great food and reasonably priced. Had the Asian salad which was really nice. Thursday night has $1 oysters which is great

A crazy place - like the cheap places found at all holiday spots, the temptation is to go in the hope that you get lucky and that your apprehension that the food will be ordinary may prove unfounded. We took the punt. Pizzas were good, my fish and chips were standard Keeno's tasting plate was OK. Service was from a nice Canadian who told us that Noosa was getting to her and she would soon move south. I watched the manager clean a table by wiping it it with his bare hands and then rubbing them on his shorts! Everything except the pizzas and our Canuck was short of good.... but... We worked out the bill would be at least $160 for 2 pizzas, 2 fish and chips, a tasting plate ($28) wine, beer, and an extra salad. Instead we got a bill for $100 on the nose. I reckon they forgot/lost our bill and just had a stab at it. Check out the photo - no GST just $100!! Dumb luck!! PS - We gave a goodly tip to our Canuck!

We went here for dinner as we forgot to book in so this was the only place we could get a seat at. I had the pork rind chop with cauliflower and apple jus. Was quite delicious. For dessert I had the chocolate orange pot with salted caramel praline and raspberry cream and oh my god this was so Devine I only wish I had room for another one. The flamingo cocktail had watermelon and strawberries and was ok though not really my thing. Overall this is okay for casual dining but I would not go out of my way to recommend for dinner as there are so many more great restaurant bar cafes in Noosa to try. Just remember to book ahead.

DIY Acaí bowl. Okay, but I'll pass on the yoghurt addition next time.

So you could imagine our disappointment when we made the trip out to Noosaville for lunch on empty stomachs after 2 hours of stand up paddle boarding and still couldn't enjoy what we were served. The Midnight Delight (beef, cheese, smoked bacon, garlic & chilli mayonnaise, fried onions, lettuce, tomato, house mayonnaise, AU$14) was far from delightful. The patty was burnt to a crisp throughout, so all I could taste were lumps of what I would imagine chewing charcoal would be like. The bun was dry. The greens were limp. And to be honest, I couldn't understand the sauces which they were stingy on anyway. I rarely splurge on bacon, and I utterly regret doing so today. The burger itself was rather substantial, but a large, incredibly overcooked burger is nothing to cheer about. The House of the Rising Bun (premium Wagyu beef, japanese teriyaki sauce, pickled ginger, house mayo, wasabi, kimchi, roasted red peppers, lettuce, AU$15) was something my partner was absolutely ecstatic for; he was giddy just uttering its name to the cashier. But from the very first bite, his palette was confused. He rarely ever complains about food much less a burger, and he stated that this topped his list for the absolute worst burger he's ever tried. I eat Korean food regularly as does my partner; we've both travelled through South Korea, and neither us saw how the kimchi was true to its name. Fermented, it was. But the spices were completely off. To make matters worse, I was telling my companion the other day about how I haven't had a bad batch of chips since arriving in Australia about 1.5 months ago, and I guess I jinxed us because the chips were boring and some were undercooked. Granted they were busy and the wait for an order was approximately 30 minutes (quoted by an employee), but cutting corners and taking chips out of the fryer a minute or two early does more damage than good. I had a stomachache after, and this was my first meal of the day. It's hard to stuff up chips, but Burger Bar did just that. When we got back to our flat, we were still fuming and it was then that our flatmates told us to avoid lunchtime since they've had bad experiences then as well and have had great food only at dinnertime. Even if that were true, the keys to a successful business includes consistency and Burger Bar just doesn't have it. The only saving grace was the super friendly woman with a smile on who took our order. +1 star for her.

The hubby ordered the BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, & tomato) with a fried egg on a soft focaccia/panini like bread. After one bite, the yolk of his fried egg oozed out like a real bleeder; well done Canteen. He wolfed down his sandwich within 5 minutes and said it was "super yummy". I got the beet salad with baby spinach, ricotta and walnuts. Simple yet so good with the shredded beets and onions. It's a satisfying salad. Hubby doesn't normally eat greens but he cleaned up the rest of my salad too. It was a great meal. Definitely stop by this cute cafe if you're in the area.

Their slow roasted mushrooms and grilled haloumi was delicious!! The mushrooms were perfectly soft and juicy; paired beautifully with the sweet and salty haloumi. Their griddle cakes might be the best I've ever had! Similar to corn fritters, the griddle cakes are packed with juicy sweet corn and a mild heat of jalapeño. Accompanied with all your favourite breakfast sides: crispy bacon, creamy smashed avo and juicy roasted cherry tomatoes- this dish will satisfy your brunch cravings. Finished off with a harrisa aioli, the creamy and spicy sauce adds a flavourful kick to the dish.
