Our third pub stop of the evening of our first day in Derry found us at The Dungloe Bar on Waterloo Street. My wife and I dug this bar. I loved the ambiance and the energy. When you talk about cool, iconic pubs when you travel overseas from the States, this is where you want to check out.
If you're staying in Derry City Centre, The Dungloe Bar is one of a few bars on Waterloo Street just outside the Walls that you need to have on your list. We enjoyed ample servings of Jameson Crested whiskey amongst other types of Single Pot and Single Grain whiskeys we enjoyed at a high-top table on the first level of the bar.
The ambiance and energy was "craicing" as we spent a good couple of hours chilling and knocking back drinks. While there weren't any local bands playing this specific evening, this pub would be a great spot to enjoy some live music. An absolute stop to visit if you want to enjoy some nightlife at a pub in Derry. read more
